Becquer Hotel

Reyes Catolicos 4, Seville - Map
"Good location, close to Triana, historic area"
Stayed here for 2 days. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We had a king bed, deluxe room (in Europe this is 2 twins together). Decent sized room with the ability to fit 2 large suitcases. It also had a good sized armoire for clothing and a safe. Surprisingly, the A/C worked great, necessary in the Sevilla heat during August! Also, the hair dryer supplied was better than typical European dryers (you women will appreciate this comment and men will wonder why I even brought it up). We didn't try the restaurant, but the salon off the lobby area was nice, with a bar, Hotel staff were very accommodating. The only drawback was the view. We looked into a courtyard, and being on the 6th floor, that meant essentially looking across into another room. However, a guest across the hall said her view, which we though would have been good, was covered by a stained glass window. My guess is that they don't have any rooms with a view?

"Lovely Hotel Ideal location"
Had a fabulous stay at Vincci La Rabida Hotel, welcome note and platter awaited us on arrival in our room. Great location short walk from Cathedral and Royal Palace. Hotel was clean, staff provided excellent service, breakfast was great with a good selection of food and drinks. We also ordered from the tapas and main menu for lunch and dinner both were lovely well presented food. Would definitely recommend this hotel and we hope to return again soon.

"Comfortable hotel convenient for airport"
Comfortable & convenient. Great room large bed. Food was disappointing. Dry and too much bread. Tiny serving of bolognese. Pool looked lovely but we didn't use it as son had ear infection. Taxi fare of E25 to airport was a racket for 1.9K.

"The perfect hotel"
Great price, great location, comfortable rooms and good breakfast. Nice views from the rooftop bar and pool. Very convenient to walk to all the major sites, near many good restaurants and just around the corner from a busy taxi stand to make heading to the airport easy.

Calle Santa Maria La Blanca 3, Seville - Map
"Charming, unique setting but full of complications"
This hotel was recommended by family who had stayed there 8 years ago. They were fascinated by its quaint setting and central location to the historic part of Seville. Since then the hotel has expanded and is a series of old houses (in the original Jewish quarter) connected by passages. The whole setting is charming but confusing ( got lost several times) our location was as far as possible away from the front desk. It took 5-10 minutes ( with luggage) to get to our room which was tiny and on ground floor so only window opened onto passage and we had to keep curtains closed and lights on as opposed to the higher floors which had windows and light. The shower was so tiny (a quarter of which was devoted to a pipe. Even I as a small woman had difficulty turning around my husband could not. TThere was a pipe in our closet (which was larger than our shower) That was obviously the main sewer pipe so we heard every toilet flush and shower above our section. The grout in shower filthy. My mother's handicapped accessible room was also a 5 minute walk from front door over upebble floored passages and also below ground level so window was not accessible The a/c was not working when we came into our room- fortunately the repair was made quickly and we had a cool room. We requested a change of rooms but none available until next day sincewe were only there for 2 nights it would have been an upheaval for that amount of time. Instead we requested comps for breakfast but they denied it.

"Great hotel for mixing sightseeing with sunbathing"
A bit of a (very pretty) stroll between the hotel and the city centre, but all the better for it. On the down side, services for Conference Delegates take precedence, so ordinary residents are quite neglected if there is a big event i.e. no pool bar availability and no clean pool towels on Conference Party Nights. Lots more on the upside. Very clean rooms, mostly helpful staff (bar staff seem constantly distracted by inputting data to the cash till or talking to each other about it, rather than serving guests promptly though!). Overall a very good experience.

"Style over substance"
Superficially appealing and in decent location. The design has trumped functionality: lighting complicated, utility of bathroom not ideal (cannot stand at sink easily, taps situated sideways, shower hard to operate) poor privacy. Expect better from a self-styled leading hotel. strange noises, unreliable for hot water, no swimming pool, variable quality staff, limited choice at breakfast. Could do much better for this price. Living on past glories. Would try another hotel next time for this price

Hotel Palacio de Villapanes

Calle Santiago 31, Seville - Map
"Great Hotel in Seville, Spain"
We had a fabulous stay at Hotel Palacio de Villapanes in Seville. The hotel is down a small street from the main street, but that is not a problem since every taxi driver can find the hotel for you with ease upon arrival. Once you are there the staff is great at helping you with a map and personal directions to find anything you might need or want to get to for the day or evening. We were able to walk to any place we wanted: flamenco shows, shopping, Starbucks, dance lessons, historic buildings, etc. Seville is a lovely place and this hotel made it complete. The room is designed well with comfortable bedding, a fantastic shower, desk, and other nice accommodations. The staff was attentive and helped us when needed.
