SOME NOTES ABOUT THE MOUNTAINS: \- This is the mountains and cell service may be spotty \- There may be some twisty roads \- This is in the forests and mountains and you will likely see bugs, mice, or furry critters (including bears!). We do maintain the property with regular pest control, but due to the surroundings, or if doors are left open, or food is left outside the house, this can attract critters. \- PLEASE NOTE: Fall/Winter is ladybug season in the Smokies and these little buggers are attracted to heat, meaning your cabin and every other one out there that is warm! They will swarm to the cabin and you'll probably see them alive/dead on windowsills, in vents, etc. Rest assured that your cabin has regular pest control and is professionally cleaned, including bug removal, before and after your stay. However, these bugs come back right away and unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about them until the season passes. \- The cabin has well water and when first turning the hot water on it can have the sulfur smell. This will go away after a minute or two and is typically just when you first turn it on the first day. After you start using the water regularly it goes away. Also, the water can sometimes come out a little brown, typically when flushing the toilets, etc. This is normal. The water is drinkable, but we still recommend using the filtered water from the fridge. \- Cell phone service is very spotty in the area, so download the maps offline before arriving. The community pool and fishing pond are run by a 3rd party and we have no control over closures, etc. that may occur. No refunds will be issued for closures of these amenities. Fireplace is gas powered and is typically shut off between March/April and October/November. Note: This is the mountains and WiFi and cell phone service can sometimes be spotty and lose service. If the internet does go out, try resetting the router first. The cabin is very private but easy to get to. We stayed in the winter and when it snowed, the view was absolutely gorgeous from the large windows. Close enough to all the tourist sights, Smokey Mountains and Gatlinburg, but just far enough in the mountains to enjoy the outdoors. The owners were very quick and friendly with responses to questions. We even saw a bear in the back area of the property!! that was really neat to see. Cale was always on top of his game and always communicating with us. The cabin is fantastic, and the views are amazing. Hidden away in picturesque Wears Valley you can't go wrong. Close enough to all the Great Smokey Mountains has to offer but far enough away from the hubbub in the typical tourist destinations. Great place to relax between your adventures. The owners are fantastic: very communicative, responsive and hospitable.
