STAIRS: There are three steps to enter the home and one flight of stairs to both of the lower level bedrooms. BATHROOM ACCESS: The main floor includes a half bath, while both full bathrooms are located on the lower level. Guests using the pullout sofa on the main floor or the loft will need to go downstairs to access a shower or bath. KIDS LOFT ACCESS: Loft access is by climbing a ladder, and the loft is located two levels above the primary bedrooms. Kids love it, but we recommend parents supervise younger children and consider whether the ladder and the distance from the main bedrooms suit your family. We do NOT recommend the loft for adults because of the small space, ladder access and distance to bathrooms. HOT TUB: For cleanliness and safety, the hot tub is fully drained and refilled between each stay. Therefore, it may still be warming up when you arrive, but should reach your preferred temperature shortly. COMMUNITY WELL: Summit View cabin is supplied by a community well. Consequently, you may experience variations in water clarity and odor that differ from those associated with public water treatment systems. You may also observe a white, chalky residue on various surfaces, including faucets, kitchenware, and in the hot tub. Please be assured that this is not a health risk; it is simply a natural result of the calcium present in the water. The well water has a different taste than city treated water. Although it is safe for drinking and cooking, most guests prefer to bring bottled water. WILDLIFE & INSECTS: Our cabin is nestled in the beautiful Smoky Mountains, an area rich with diverse wildlife and insects, including bears, snakes, mice, spiders, and ants. Given our proximity to the nation's largest national park and our wooded setting, encountering these creatures is a natural part of the mountain experience, and you may see them during your stay. \- Black bears & their cubs are common in the area and very active. \- Please do not approach a bear or feed wild animals. \- Keep vehicles free of food, open drinks, mints/gum, etc. Keep car windows up and doors locked. \- Keep windows and doors to the cabin closed! \- Do not leave food or drinks outside on the porches! Keep the grill and drip pan clean after each use. While we implement monthly pest prevention treatments and take all reasonable measures to keep our cabin critter-free, some insects and small animals may inevitably find their way inside. Please be aware that seasonal carpenter bees and Asian beetles (often mistaken for ladybugs) are also common in the Smokies. This is true for any cabin in the Smokies. If the presence of wildlife or insects is a significant concern, you may wish to reconsider your visit to this natural environment. GETTING THERE: No steep, winding or gravel roads! \- Gatlinburg, TN (GKT-Gatlinburg - Pigeon Forge) - ‪6 miles \- Knoxville, TN (TYS-McGhee Tyson) - ‪28 miles Directions: \- We are located 1.9 miles off of Chapman Highway (441) and 4.1 miles from Great Smoky Mountains Parkway (Sevierville and Pigeon Forge). \- Please use you favorite map app for detailed directions. ROADS: Many back roads in the Smoky Mountains can be steep, narrow, and winding, which may feel challenging for some drivers. That said, the roads leading to Summit View are quite mild compared to most in the area. There are no extreme climbs, sharp drop-offs, or gravel roads. The driveway has a noticeable incline from the road, so we recommend pulling in carefully. Any standard vehicle should be fine, just be sure to engage the emergency brake once parked for added safety. Bedrooms have everything you need, separate showers & bathrooms are great. Access to lower balcony from bedrooms is nice, hottub was perfect. Loft area was great - lots of room, seating, things to do. Kitchen area fully stocked, everything functioning properly. Upper loft is nice tough for kids & has the best view. Cabin struggled to stay cool upstairs , but it was manageable. Location is OK, close to the city but requires a 10-15 minute drive up a winding mountain road with no shoulder access. Not great in the dark or when raining , but there were 2 ways to reach the cabin so that was useful. Driveway is very steep, pay attention to how you pull in. Neighbor cabins are close but not too intruding. Overall, cabin is a 9/10\. Nothing is perfect but I would stay at this cabin again , it was well worth the time & money. This cabin had all the cozy vibes and fun tucked into every corner. The whole family was happy—from sunrise coffee on the porch (don’t forget your sunglasses!) to catching Dollywood fireworks in the distance at night (around 9:30 PM).Heads-up: there’s only a half bath on the main floor, so be sure stairs aren’t an issue for your crew.We planned one outing per day into Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, or the mountains to avoid going back and forth—and it worked perfectly. In the evenings, there was plenty to keep everyone entertained and relaxed at the cabin.The host was super responsive both before and during our stay, and the cabin was clean, comfortable, and ready for us to enjoy as soon as we arrived! When we walked through the door, we were amazed. The spacious yet cozy feeling and views from every room were incredible, waking up to the mountains each morning and seeing the distant lights in the evenings. The cabin was very clean, well maintained, and the spacious open floor plan is a great place for the whole family to hang out.We loved the pool table and games for fun and relaxing evenings. Kids loved the loft. The kitchen had everything we needed to feel at home. The beds were comfortable and bedrooms cool at night.The location is in a quiet, peaceful setting, yet really convenient to all the dining, shopping and family attractions in Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, just a few minutes away on easy, uncrowded back roads. Me and my family come to the Smokey Mountains twice a year and in the last 10 years, this cabin is by far the cleanest cabin we’ve ever rented. We were absolutely impressed with the cabin. On top of the cleanliness, this cabin was well stocked with everything you need and impressively organized in every drawer. My wife and I were simply amazed. It’s very easy to see that the owner, manager and house cleaning crew take pride in their work with this cabin to make sure that the families renting the cabin are happy, comfortable, and most importantly satisfied with choosing this cabin. The beds are very comfortable, the hot tub was clean and the pool at the resort was perfect. Even has a smaller pool for the toddlers and babies to enjoy. So, if you’re having a hard time choosing your cabin, like me every time, I highly recommend this cabin. You will not be disappointed with this place. I will be looking into this cabin when we come back in a few months. I give 5 Stars to all involved in this cabin and as far as the cabin, it’s the true meaning of a cabin and when you first walk in the door, you will understand what I’m saying when I say the true meaning of a cabin. ##### Michael S.
