Here are the facts! Rented the lodge for the purpose of having a wedding. Booked the property through VRBO. If you plan to have a party, wedding, etc. like every other venue in the world...there are some additional fees based on what you are planning. When you throw a party, wedding, etc. there are additional fees to cover the costs of wear/tear, outside guests, etc.. Ie. - if you are going to have alcohol at your event then you have to pay for some additional insurance. Less than 100 dollars, understandable and no big deal...it is just how it works everywhere! Now to the lodge itself...perfect in every way. Clean, comfortable and up to date. Everything you could possible want for a large group and then some. Beds and bedding were clean and fresh, bathrooms were spotless as was the kitchen. Communication as noted by some was not great...but you just have to get to the right person. Don't waste your time talking to Mary. Nice lady but she has no authority and seemed very confused most of the time. Go straight to Leroy the owner.
