Maximum occupancy: 8 Adults Welcome to Bear Retreat located at the base of Dogwood Farms. This Wears Valley Cabin Rental is perfect for families on the go. Convenient to Pigeon Forge, Townsend, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Bear Retreat provides accommodations for a family of 8\. As you enter the cabin, a small step up is all that is required to gain access to the covered front porch area. Inside guests are greeted to a warm atmosphere of plushness and simplicity mingled with sophistication. The open floor plan allows families and friends to gather round and enjoy spending time together reminiscing about time well spent in The Great Smoky Mountains. The living room area has ample seating to gather round. The seasonal gas fireplace adds warmth to cold winter nights as you gather round to catch a movie on TV. The fully equipped kitchen provides a pleasurable atmosphere for cooking up family favorites and enjoying a meal together at the dining room table. The smiles on your family's face will bring joy to your heart. To the right of the living room, a hallway bathroom is on the left side of the hallway and a bedroom with King Size Bed is on the right. Get a great night's rest and be ready to take on another day in the Smoky Mountains National Park. To the left of the living room, the Master Suite offers complete relaxation. A King Size Log Bed, TV, and ensuite Bathroom. As of 07/12/2020, Due to the necessity of water conservation, we will no longer be renting the cabin with the indoor whirlpool tub. Outside on the main level back deck, gather round in the summer months at dusk, and bear watch. You might be just lucky enough to see a bear meandering through the yard. As nightfall rolls in, lights out. Watch the synchronous lighting of the Fireflies as they playfully light up the night sky. Downstairs, the game room provides hours of indoor playtime for friends & family. The pool table, fooseball table, and air hockey table are excellent options for rainy days in the Smokies. Just added: A Pac-Man Arcade Game Table perfect for kids..... Just off the game room, Bedroom 3 provides 2 Queen Size Beds and a private bathroom. This room is excellent for those who like to sleep in on vacation. Outside on the lower deck, an outdoor hot tub, glider, and additional seating can be found. The outdoor charcoal grill can be easily accessed from this level too. When considering a family vacation, Bear Retreat is truly a fantastic choice. If you need lodging for other family members, Peek-A-View and Breathless View are located in Dogwood Farms too. \*\*\*Pool and fishing pond access located at Honeysuckle Meadows Pool & Deli off of Happy Hollow Road in Wears Valley. Located approximately 8 minutes from the cabin. There in no cost to use the pool or fishing pond. This is Included in your rental. Fishing pole rentals available onsite in season. Not only was it as nice it truly was amazing. The quality of the cabin was followed through with the decor. It’s location is so convenient to Pigeon Forge and yet provided the mountain hideaway we were looking to enjoy. Morning coffee on the deck or evenings just enjoying the quiet. The only thing I would suggest is new sheets on the downstairs beds and there was no instructions for departure. I even hesitated to mention these two things but I know you have ask for any suggestions. Hopefully this cabin is available on our next trip. ##### Marilyn C. It was a great location, writhing 15-20 of all park entrances. Located near Pigeon Forge for some in-town fun. The cabin was clean and very well maintained. The scenery is beautiful and serene. We loved the game room and the very well furnished basement. We really enjoyed the hot tub. The decks are also one of our favorite places and we spent most of our time sitting outside and enjoying the peaceful scenery. Overall I would highly recommend this property though there were a couple of things that could be improved. The lighting is very dim. Brighter lights would be very helpful in the kitchen. The house is not very well stocked and we had to make a trip to the store for toilet paper , paper towels, and laundry detergent. No complementary items of shower or shampoo products. That wasn’t a big deal but would’ve been nice and something we’ve come to expect based on other places we’ve stayed. The driveway is so steep we only parked there once and had trouble backing up the very steep incline to get to the road. There is barely room for two midsize vehicles in front of the house. That was one of the major drawbacks of this property. We originally had another couple intending to come with us in their own car but were unable to make the trip. If they had come I don’t know how we would’ve parked all three vehicles. Overall we were satisfied with our stay and do recommend this property to anyone who desires tranquil, relaxing surroundings and a clean, comfortable home. ##### diana p. They contacted us two weeks prior to our trip to give us directions and take care of a few details. We truly appreciated all they did. One thing that we'd recommend is to make sure the pool passes are in the cabin in a more visible spot and the pool hours are listed on the pool information sheet. The accommodations and cabin itself were perfect for our crew. We enjoyed every minute. The game room was a hit with our teens. Thank you so much! There was a tiny tree lit up and Christmas decorations all around that you felt right at home. Place was over all clean, minus the two dirty dishes with toast and jam spots left on them. Plenty of things to do with a pool table, gaming console, air hockey, and the foosball table, but if you want board games and a deck of card you need to bring your own. Extra blankets might not be a bad idea when temperatures drop in the downstairs area. Also bring extra toilet paper we had to make a run and get some. The driveway was a steep, so make sure you got a car that can muscle a straight hill, if not it only has room for two cars in front of the cabin. Great stay over all, the host was amazing and let us check in a bit early after a long flight and drive it was much appreciated. We would highly recommend this cabin again. The people staying next door were there to party and that was a little loud. There was mold on the ceiling of the bedroom downstairs. There were no extra blankets. The pool is a public pool and was beyond crowded, so we were unable to swim. The game room was nice. The cabin was super clean and spacious. The game room kept us entertained for the whole weekend. We only left for food and one day of site seeing then it was back to the cabin.
