Great value for buget hotel.
Location is great and convenient. From Hoehyeon station, exit 1, walking 3 mins to Seoul City Hotel. Walking distance to Namdaemun market, Myeong Dong Shopping Street and N Seoul Tower. There are few eateries opened 24 hours near by and many minimart around too. They only provide simple, same breakfast daily. Bread, butter, jam, mushroom soup, hard boiled eggs, cookies, instant cup noodles, oranges juices, milk, coffee and tea.

Poor first impressions, but let hotel grow on you
Don't let the first impression be the final impression. We had a bad first impression. Our Uber from Gimpo Airport wasn't able to locate the place as navigation couldn't locate hotel. Stumbling with 4 luggages, we arrived at seemingly run-down building. The elevator had a foul smell. There was no partition in bathroom between shower and toilet. We couldn't find toilet soap. We were regretting it already, but it turned out to be one of our best hotels in the trip. When I asked reception for toilet accessories, he accompanied me to the room to show where it is. It was next to TV in what looked like tea bags. But they have actual tea bags too. And kettle. And computer. The staff spoke better English than all our hotel staff in Japan. Room size was very reasonable and comes with a robotic entrance which is super cool. Breakfast (bread-eggs-butter-jam with soup- stuff you'd find in a US motel) was complimentary. There are weighing machines on every floor useful for checking bag size. For our return, we booked taxi to Incheon Airport through them at reasonable 70k KRW and the driver was very punctual, safe. The front-desk went above & beyond helping us get a taxi using their own app when Uber wouldn't match for us to go to palace. Room service was exceptional. Location: very close to Myeongdong, Namdaemun. Use exit 1 Hoeyhoen Station, 3 minute walk. Install Kakao Maps. Overall excellent service and will stay here again when return to Seoul.

The hotel is clean & location - accessibility is good. One thing am not impressed is the breakfast schedule. It’s a little bit late.. (8-11) suggest should be as early as 6am. And the food is very limited & boring😌.. Hotel is not customer friendly.

Great value, service and location.
This is a small, but very comfortable hotel. It is in a very convenient location, approximately 200 m from exit 1 of the Hoehyeon station (Line number 4). Nearby are the Numdaemun and Myeongdong markets. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was simple, but was available till 11.00 am. Like most places in Korea, the wifi was excellent. Overall, the hotel is not fancy, but is clean and in a safe and quiet location. We were well looked after and would gladly stay here again.

Convenient location, perfectly adequate for a single person spending a few days in Seoul sightseeing. Room didn't have a window and didn't have a fan in the bathroom, so was very hot and humid if the AC wasn't running.

Bed hard. Small bathroom with shower out of wall and whole room gets wet. No computers available in lobby to use which was VERY disappointing. should be at least two available. Breakfast very blah. Soup okay but only one cereal same very morning and only white bread often stale. Also hard to find. Needs sign down on corner of main street by subway exit. I am a senior citizen and solo traveler.

not worth the daily rate
The only good thing I can say is the location was great - other than that, rooms were small with no windows, inconsistent internet, no drawers or closet, and breakfast should not even be called breakfast. Not worth the daily rate.

I loved that the hotel is within a 10 minute walk from the center of Myeongdong (about 3 blocks away). It was faster to walk there than to take the subway. The room was small, but clean. There were a few things that I didn't like my room: the bed was really hard (felt like sleeping on a wooden frame with no mattress), there was no window to the outside (I couldn't tell when it was day or night at any given time of the day), and there was nothing that separated the shower to the toilet/sink when you showered. Every time I showered, the entire floor, sink, and toilet would get wet. For daily room cleaning, only the trash was taken out and fresh towels were given, but the bed was not made. It'd be nice to make the bed. I didn't mind any this much because the room was extremely affordable and of the close proximity of Myeongdong, the subway station, and airport shuttle 6001 and 6015. I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.

Hotel close to subway but room quite small
Overall the accommodation is acceptable if you don't need spacious room. However room ventilation is moderate. Breakfast is decent but menu never change during 1 week stay. We got bored with the breakfast after 4th day of stay.

Close to subway, 24hrs convenient shops and restaurants. Nice breakfast. However, it wilk be bettet if hotel can provide self laundry like washing machine, dryer. There small little creature in the toilet that made it not perfect. Overall is a good hotel.

Hotel in HoeHyeon not Myeong-dong
We stayed in a double room on the 2nd floor which was comfortable and quiet. The checkin and checkout was quick and hassle free after booking through Hotels.com. The free breakfast on the top floor was basic with coffee, instant Ramen noodles, toasts, boiled eggs, bottled juice and one fruit option. There are other food options reasonably priced around the hotel for variety. The hotel is situated near HoeHyeon station, exit 1 between Seoul and Myeong-dong. Just walk towards the Rex Hotel and look for the hotel on the right turn corner. If arriving via the AREX Express train then change at Seoul station for Line4 for 1 stop to HoeHyeon. Myeongdong shopping strip is also 1 station or a 10mins walk away. Some cons about the hotel, basic breakfast, sheets do not get replaced every day but clean towels do and not much tour information available. Overall, it's a good price hotel but not suitable if you enjoy the popular shopping area of Myeong-dong. But excellent for shopping at Namdaemun Market.

Comfortable Stay
My family booked 3 quadruple rooms for four nights. It was beyond my expectations. The room with double beds was good enough for four people. It was spacious. The beds were comfortable, the toilet and bath was very clean. The hotel had all the basics that one could need. Toiletries, slippers, hair dryer! The wifi connectivity was good.

Bad smell, no ventilation.
For my 10 day trip to South Korea, staying in four different accommodations, this was the worst. I stayed by myself but had previously stayed in a smaller room in a budget hotel with my spouse but those were much nicer for the comparable price. Normally it is nice to have a comfortable sanctuary to escape the hustle of a city as a refuge but this was not that. Spotted sheets and the only tiny window opened to the hallway and the lack of ventilation made the room a steam box after a shower. Also an overwhelmingly unpleasant smell permeated the room. This was unfortunate as I was sick the day I checked in and ended up spending most of the day in the room. My condition was possibly even aggravated by the smell. Needless to say, I did my best to avoid the room at all costs. Would not recommend. Staff that spoke English was nice at least.

A friend and I booked, had to cancel for work and re book. Her old room was never taken out of the system so upon arrival I had no room to stay even though I paid via Hotels.com. Luckily the mistake of her having two bookings opened space for me. The check in process was too hard bc he didn't speak any English. The room was ok. The bed was good but walls were marked up and black mold here and there. I didn't sleep bc of non stop noise from outside and throughout the hotel. I only like that shopping on Myeongdong was a short walk. The location is very confusing for taxi drivers.

Worst Hotel Stay on 60 Night Trip in Japan & Korea
Worst hotel I stayed at on 60 day trip to Japan & Korea. Location is great but I booked a single room for 6 nights & room was even smaller than Japan! The only window in room was of the hallway & didn't have a cover so light would shine into room. Had to cover with a towel. Staff were really very nice but only one member spoke English. The toilet seat had one bolt missing so kept moving around & there was a leak somewhere because there was water on the floor near the toilet most of the time. Mentioned it to the front desk but nothing was done. I saw the double rooms & they looked OK. Breakfast was very basic & the same every day.

Well located hotel
The hotel was nice and well located. The best part was the day I was leaving the hotel. I was leaving for the airport at 7, and was going to skip the breakfast that started at 7:30. Instead, the manager insisted I stay and brought me a meal at 7am. It was really sweet and completely unexpected. I would definitely recommend.

The room was fairly clean found a couple of hairs in the shower and a lot of flys. I got rid of 5 if not more. The have great service though asked questions and they gave me straight answer which I liked

Overall the stay is good
Overall I have a good stay in Seoul City Hotel. The location of the hotel is good, near to subway station and just one station away from Seoul Station. Basically you can go to any attraction easily using subway. The breakfast was good, my family enjoyed it. One thing to note is there is no carpet for the room flooring, so if you travel during winter, the room is kind of too cold for my family even with the heater on. Just put on some sweaters to sleep.

Great location, awful smell.
Let me start by saying the location was excellent, within a 5 minute walk to Myeongdong and Namdaemun, as well as a train just 2 blocks away. But upon entering the hotel there was a strong stench in the lobby that continued to our room on the first floor. The front desk was always staffed, which we liked. However, no ID was required when checking in. I simply said my name and was handed a key. They were very nice, but i question how secure it is when ID is not required. The room smelled so unpleasant and the stench was SO strong. Our guess was that the smell was sewage. We bought an air freshener. We asked the front desk about it and they said its a new hotel so maybe that is why. I honestly would not stay here again for the smell alone. All our clothes smelled like that when we got back to new york. The room was clean. No window (except to the lobby). The room was tiny but that is not a problem for us. No need for the desktop computer taking up so much space. The tv was large. The wifi worked great. The bathroom was a sink, a toilet, and a shower head. Not so much as a nub on the floor around the shower just to distinguish it from the rest of the bathroom. Just a drain in the center of the floor.nWe put a towel on the floor to avoid muddy foot prints.

This hotel is near the train station and easy to locate. Besides, the restaurants, tradional market and high end shopping mall are all within walking distance.

The hotel seemed more like a guesthouse. The twin room was small but sufficient for placing luggage. Staff are generally helpful in handling our requests. Good location near Hwihyeon station but may be hard to find at the start.

Quality stay, hidden gem on a budget
Stayed in this hotel as an extension to my business trip where I stayed in Conrad, so my expectations were not low. The hotel is located in between Seoul Station and the tourist area of Myeong Dong, and around 5 mins from the nearest metro station. Outside the hotel are convenience stores and some 24hr Korean restaurants. Location wise it's great. Staff was helpful and even let me check in at 10am. The hotel should have been recently refurbished, it's clean and comfortable. Rooms are not huge but good for short stay. Please bear in mind this is a budget hotel, and for its price I think is great.

호텔 치고는 허접한데 모텔이라고 하기엔 갖춰진 게 꽤 있음 근데 창문이 없었고 방 안이 칙칙했음 건물에 들어가는 순간 모텔같은 분위기 덕에 청결에 대한 신뢰도가 급격히 하락하기 시작함 카운터에 계신 분 말투는 친절하셨지만 표정은 친절하지 않으셨음 딱 하루 묵고 가기 좋은 곳

小さいホテルなので、部屋が近く、場所によっては、また入室される人によってはうるさい場合があります． 室内のエアコンが30°に設定されているので、暑すぎる場合があるので、ホテルに戻ったら気温設定下げた方が良いです．
