The villa has a unique and distinguished heritage. The villa was originally handcrafted using the finest teak wood from up to a hundred years ago, grown in the jungles of Central and East Java. Once aged over many months to ensure strength and durability in the highly temperate climates of Indonesia, the teak wood was used to build these magnificent ‘Joglos’ which were houses built for palace official residences, government estates, and the house of nobles. The founder of the villa searched far and wide throughout central and eastern Indonesia decades ago collecting only the best fully intact Joglos from the time. These Joglos are a part of the living heritage of Indonesia and are now a part of the rich experience of staying in the original Indonesian villas here in Bali.
