UPDATE: Lake Life Returns Soon!

While many of our guests have truly enjoyed the peaceful, shallow stretch of the Guadalupe River during the dam reconstruction, we’re excited to share that Lake Placid is coming back! The dam rebuild is on track to wrap up by mid-September 2025, with the lake set to refill this October.

That means lake views, boating, jet skiing, and all your favorite waterfront activities will return just in time for 2026 getaways.

As always, timelines depend on weather and final inspections, but everything is moving forward right on schedule. We can’t wait to welcome guests back to a fully restored lake experience!


Experience direct river access in a completely private setting—perfect for large family gatherings, retreats, birthdays, and more. A favorite among kids, our location offers excellent opportunities for kayaking, fishing, and making s’mores around a large fire pit.

Property Highlights:

• Booking includes BOTH the Main and Guest House (15ft apart). Houses cannot be rented separately.
• Accommodates up to 32 guests
• Direct river access via a short staircase leading to a beach-style area.
• Water level typically around 6 feet, may fluctuate due to rainfall.
• Kayak & paddleboard rentals available nearby (or bring your own). Note: No motorized watercraft access.
• Large circular fire pit with bench seating and café lighting (wood provided for one fire; additional wood may be brought).
• Pet-friendly environment.
• Huge shaded yard, perfect for outdoor games and the events.

Accommodations:

• 11 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, 3 kitchens. Layout below
• Sleeps 28 in beds and 6 on futons. Maximum occupancy, including visitors, is 32 (children 5 and under not counted).
• The Main House features a large kitchen open to dining and living areas, stocked with all necessary kitchen tools.
• Some bedrooms have a pass-through design; however, alternative routes are available and rooms can be locked for privacy.
• Full list of amenities and suggested items provided upon booking.



Events:

• Ideal for family reunions, retreats, birthdays, large family gatherings (must stay within maximum 32 guest occupancy).
• Not an official “venue”; guests must provide their own setup and teardown.
• Local caterers, florists, bakeries, and rental services list available upon booking.

This home was perfect for our cousin trip. The many bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchenettes gave everyone ample space to call their own. We loved having a guest house to use also. The private access to the river in our backyard made it super fun to spend the days and the huge fire pit was perfect for starry nights (and s'mores!).

30 guests and we never felt crowded! The house, patio and grounds were perfect for us. Having the guest house for the young adults was ideal :) Would definitely return. **with some TLC and updating this would easily be 5 stars**

The house was clean and surprisingly, could fit our large family of 30. The backyard and the river was perfect for games and outdoor activities. From grandparents to 2 year olds, we had lots of fun at the house. The bedrooms are a little small, but dinning and living was large enough to fit all of us at a time. There were enough space for everything and the Kayaks were dropped off/picked up in the backyard which made life so much more easier.Overall this is a perfect place and would recommend it to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay in this home! The pictures are accurate! Communication with the owners is good. Check in was simple. We were there in December and they had Christmas decorations up, even a tree! It was a very nice touch! The kitchen was especially well equipped which I really appreciated! The outdoor area was nice with the large yard, a fire pit and tether ball. The only thing that was an issue was having to go through other people's bedrooms to get to the bathroom or go upstairs if you stayed in the downstairs rooms in the main house. It's just something to make note of when assigning rooms. It is also a good idea to bring extra toilet paper and paper towels. Only one toilet paper roll is provided for the stay. This was noted before we came and we did need to buy more. We were about a 15 minute drive into town and to an HEB which was also nice.We also left a couple of important items that we didn't realize until a day or two after we left. The owners have been extremely accomodating in helping to get those back to us.

Great place for a family or friends get away. The location was clean and as advertised. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and the notes about what to bring were helpful and accurate. Check in and out was super easy. The house and surrounding area fit our needs and the floor plan was extremely helpful to make sure it fits our groups needs. We loved it!

The house was just as described. We were a family of 16 and everyone had their own private space. Right "on the river" is accurate and everyone loved that. The hosts were very easy to communicate with. The beds, bathrooms and kitchen were all clean; however, the house could use a deep cleaning.

The house was amazing and the perfect size for a large group we had 4 children under the age of twelve and thirteen adults. We all were able to get a room to ourselves and not feel like everyone was on top of each other the whole time. It was a perfect secluded spot great for a now 4 year old birthday party celebration. Very much recommend spot and we will be coming back!

18 of stayed for three nights. Three folks had mobility challenges. So all three were able to have their own bedrooms on the main floor, where we all tended to gather. There was plenty of space for the rest of us to spread out, cook, play outside, roast marshmallows, rent a kayak, play games, tell stories, etc. What a lovely, comfortable place! And Darius was always very responsive to any questions we had. I definitely recommend this place.

We had an AWSOME time at your house! The river was so much fun! Only one Shared bathroom was a challenge for those 4 bedrooms on the river level. Community area was great! Beds were comfortable! Guest house was great too! If we come back to this area again, we will definitely stay here again!

The accommodations are perfect for a large group. We had several people who ranged in age from 20’s to 70’s and everyone had a blast!! This was a milestone birthday celebration and there was plenty to do for all. The property manager was very friendly and quickly responded to any and all communications. We did have to bring a charcoal bbq grill for our cookout because the rental only has a propane flat-top griddle but this is mentioned in the rental details so it was no surprise. Also mentioned is the fact that many of the bedrooms are walk throughs. This means that people will have to pass through a bedroom to get to the restroom or to another room. Not an issue as long as you don’t lock the door. We will definitely plan another trip here because we had such a great time!!!

We enjoyed our stay. We found the house to be clean and just like it was represented. The house is arranged for maximum occupancy but, not necessarily maximum convenience. Kitchen and living room areas are nice, the deck and outdoor areas are very nice. We had 27 people and we felt like we used every single available bed. We did not have anyone sleeping on any couches.

This house was perfect for our family that came from different states. We had a wedding rehearsal dinner here and the kitchen, family room were fantastic and the outdoors deck provided a beautiful view of the river. We even had a fire to enjoy in the fire pit. The owners were responsive right away and great to work with. Thank you to Carlos for all your help. We will be back again.
