Opening the front door was like walking into an oven. I turned the thermostat off completely but the baseboard heater still felt like I was standing on the edge of a volcano. I had to keep the window completely open and the AC at max to counteract the absolute firestorm that was blasting out of that thing and even then it was barely habitable. The highlight was definitely the absolutely spectacular ocean view with Davis Pier right outside! — it was stunning to wake up to and made sitting out on the deck a real treat. That said, our stay had a few downsides. The king-size bed was very uncomfortable, which made four nights of sleep difficult. The power blinds also seemed to have a mind of their own, opening and closing at random times throughout the day and night, which was disruptive. Additionally, the lobby staff weren’t always on time to have the doors open by 8 am, which was inconvenient when we wanted to grab coffee in the mornings. A small touch like having a cozy throw blanket available for sitting on the deck to watch the sunset would have made the experience so much better.
