We had a nice stay at Red Roof Inn in Secaucus. The room had been renovated and it was neat and clean. The cleaning staff was also friendly and helpful. The beds were quite comfortable like the one in Binghampton. The WiFi operated nicely after calling the help center. The issue was the WIFI switch on my laptop. The location is great due to the bus service close by. The staff was very friendly and helpful in providing the bus schedule to New York City.
Nothing fancy, was supposed to get a non-smoking room, but didn't. It smelled!! I also arrived earlier than the 3:00 checkin. I was there around 12:00. All other hotels I have ever stayed at have let me check in early without a FEE if there was a room available. Extended Stay charged $25 to do an early checkin....rip off! Also, I was staying there to see Kenney Chesney at stadium. Prior to booking room back in April, I called to see if there was a shuttle service available and I was told yes...$20 round trip. Well, there was no shuttle available, and I had to take taxi service. I called taxi company and was told it would be $20 each way....well....... it cost $20 to get there, but when I left concert to come back, all taxi's there were charging $75-$100's to get back to hotel!!!!! It is literally a mile away! Very expensive excursion!!

Rooms were big enough and clean. Close to NY city. Difficult to get into lot off of the interstate. Some resturants were close so we could walk to them. Breakfast was bagels, toast, cereal, danish, oatmeal, apples, bananas, coffee, tea, and juice. I would probably stay there again.

"Great location, right on Bus Route from the city"
Excellent location if you want to save a lot of money yet enjoy NYC. Bus #320 from Port Authority gets you across the street from the hotel. 2nd stop from Port Authority, about 20 minute ride. Return to the city same bus #. Bus runs every 15-20 minutes.
Comparing rates between Midtown and this place, saved me enough money for a really nice dinner for 2 people. Location is OK, looked like a mall near by and within walking distance. Typical mall store.
Hotel room was clean, plenty of room for 2 people, maybe 3. There are larger rooms if needed. Staff was very helpful, nice & friendly.
Car service available if needed. No taxi's (although i was told there were). I used the car service and they arrived on time both ways. Reasonable rates also. Probably better than a taxi.
Breakfast in the morning is OK, not great. Juice, coffee, packaged muffins (they were fresh) & fruit (apple or oranges). Since the room has a stove, frig and microwave, i would suggest bring your own goodies.
Another Manhattan bedroom community, Secaucus is a sports town. It is home to Secaucus FC, a soccer team, as well as being 10 minutes away from Giants Stadium, and Meadowlands Racetrack, 20 minutes from Madison Square Garden, and 40 minutes from Yankee and Shea stadiums.
