We have rented probably 24 homes and condos through VRBO. Mostly they have been on lakes or at the ocean in the midwest, east coast, southeastern US. I was a bit surprised at all of the high ratings for this particular house.It is a very basic house, one that only the bare minimum was done to make it into a rental. This doesn't make it bad, but it doesn't make it as nice as most of the places we have rented. The grounds are in need of maintenance, shrubs are over grown, really just the bare minimum is being done to maintain the grounds. There is a heavy duty screen door on the front of the house that has no knob, see pic, and the window to the left of the front door has a broken seal, so it is completely fogged up, you cannot see out of it.See pic I failed to realize that this house doesn't have central AC. I'm guessing that perhaps, most houses in the PNW do not have AC, but they did provide portable AC units in the 3 upstairs bedrooms. These were not visible in any of the pictures on the site. These units work well, but are extremely loud, and cycle on and off, which can disturb sleep. These units have to vented through an open window too, some people my not like this, it does make the road traffic more audible. It was hard to figure out the ceiling fan in the living room. There were split ac on all the 3 rooms upstairs but none below. The AC’s were very loud. Can tell the house was not cleaned well. The baseboards were dusty, Lanai/deck was dusty, lights in the porch were dusty. The Lanai furniture’s are shaky, you have to sit down gently The screen door on the main door had no knob, we had to tie it to Keep it close since we needed cross ventilation. The woods used on the ceiling, around the kitchen island, back of the master bedroom have what appears to be insect bites. Beautiful view of the lake, but the deck is too near the next property and there’s a sign that you can’t have noise from 10 pM to 8 AM. The house is not well maintained. There’s empty bottles/soda cans in the little garden outside, very evident that no one has done yard work. A written instructions about lighting, stove would be nice.The house is near my uncle’s house so it was convenient. We used it for sleeping since we were out with the family during the days. Pictures show the AC in the rooms. The master BR has no closet. The house itself was spacious and comfortably fit our large group, which made it great for gathering and relaxing. However, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Upon arrival, I had to sweep crumbs off the floors and clean the kitchen counters and sink. We also found leftover items like applesauce pouches under a bed and a paper towel stuck to a kitchen cabinet. Situated close to the airport, it was a perfect location for late arrivers. The house is very clean, with very comfortable beds. The view from the deck is wonderful - a great introduction to the area, especially in the early morning. Unfortunately, we stayed there on one of the hottest nights of the year and the house was very warm when we arrived - just bad timing for us. Kumail always answered questions quickly & was incredibly accommodating. The property itself was beautiful, clean and comfortable, & all amenities were efficient and ready to go. We had a large group of friends and there was more than enough space for people to sleep and/or set up air mattresses. The large island in the kitchen is perfect to decorate & spacious enough where everyone can eat and vibe together. The back patio was the perfect spot to hangout at the end of the night. This location was not far from all the activities we planned in Seattle & Lynnwood so I would highly recommend if you have a large party. Plenty of surprise amenities. Accommodations were comfortable. It was exactly as described. Check in and out was easy. Location was perfect. Fit all 14 of us. Kumail was easy to contact. We did have an Issue with the WiFi but after contacting him a few time he came over and fixed it. (It was our fault, family unplugged the router). Then the heater went off (battery was dead) but he was able to tell us what to do without anymore incidents. No AC didn’t need that. The only complaint I had was the loudness of the heater downstairs (really loud) and it was cold! We stayed downstairs but figured out that if you close the door between the two levels it got a little warmer. He did have portable heaters that you could use. Shower on lower level had awesome water pressure and after playing with switches in the bathroom we noted one was for heat (that was heavenly especially after getting out of shower). We didn’t use the kitchen downstairs but is fully equipped. My sons did love that they had their own tv while upstairs was for the little kids. There is 2 sets of washer and dryer in the home. (Upper and lower level had their own) The kitchen has a huge island -that helped with the amount of people with us. I did wish there was a crock pot or instant pot to use but we made do. I did end up getting rice cooker because we Hawaii people need our rice! All in all- had a great time. Love the area - close to tons of things and airport is about 15 minutes away. Very comfortable and plenty of room. It was just 5 minutes away from Starfire Sports park where our tournament was. Very convenient to downtown tourist stuff.
