Good location, served our needs well

We were 3 people - 2 parents and a teenager - and this place served our needs well. The bedroom is very nice, comfy bed with nice linens. Our son slept on the fold-out couch in the living room. The apartment has wifi and new cable TV - all worked fine. Plenty of outlets. Basic kitchen did the trick (a nice perk - 2 coffee makers, one just for hot water, which this tea drinker appreciated!). Parking space in the alley out back was always accessible (while the place is in Ballard, it's not close to Ballard Ave. - you will probably want a car if you don't have a bike). The owner was attentive for the most part. The only drawback is that this is a basement apartment - you have to run the fan and dehumidifier, otherwise it gets stuffy fast. There's an unpleasant smell in the stairwell leading down to the apartment as well (the owner has been informed and will hopefully address this). Overall, we liked this rental - it's fairly priced and met our needs.

This basement unit was not what I expected even though it was decorated nicely.

The unit is a basement of a house. The big disappointment was the smell as you opened the door to go down into the unit. There is a drain in the cement floor and we were pretty sure the smell came from there. We bought some fragrance plugins the first day and that seemed to help inside the unit but not in the entryway. This unit is close to a lot of places we visited which made it convenient. The kitchen was smaller than I thought the pictures show. We were able to use it to cook breakfast everyday and a few evening meals. We were disappointed there was not a toaster. The Ballard area was very enjoyable with a nice area for eating and shopping .We especially enjoyed Salt and Straw which has great ice cream and great customer service. Ballard locks was also enjoyable to visit in the evening. Sunsets were awesome from Golden Garden Park.

Very quaint and clean. Perfect for two or three. Had 5 so a bit crowded. Hide a bed part of couch was broken so just slept on couch whych was comfortable. Location was nice. Downtown Ballard is great fun!!!!! Make sure to go to Farmers Market on Sundays!!!

Great place to stay!

Five friends and I stayed in this location for 4 nights. It was plenty of space for us all and the location was convenient to Ballard touring. The owners were very responsive through text messages, and the place was clean. The back driveway which allows parking is a bit tight. It is shared with neighbors, which became frustrating when neighbors would park in the exit and block off the ability for us to leave with the car. This is no fault of the owners, and completely irrelevant if you don't plan on bringing a car to begin with.

Nice place to stay, except for the smell of cigarette smoke.

Pros: Nice neighborhood, fair price, only 5 miles from downtown Seattle, designated parking spot behind the unit, deposit refunded quickly, clean , plenty of linens and towels provided, nice TV with plenty of channels. Cons: The unit was advertised as non smoking. The smell of cigarette smoke was prominent, and even the cans of Febreze supplied did not mask it. We ran the dehumidifier constantly which helped, but the heat exhaust from it made the rooms warm, and there was no AC to combat that. This is a basement unit, and two of the three windows to the outside we were unable to keep open because they did not have screens. Even though we washed our clothes after the 5th day of a week stay, the clean clothes smelled like smoke after our stay.
