Few steps to Light Rail Renovated, in Columbia City with lots of light, very clean. 2 Bedroom and 2 Bathrooms with full kitchen. Main floor: Bedroom-queen bed, with full Bath. Upper floor: Bedroom- queen bed, with 3/4 Bath. Common area: 2 sleeper sofas. Laundry onsite. Location: 2 mins walking to buses, Light Rail Airport- Stadium- Downtown Seattle- Northgate mall, good for Games and event downtown. So much so we had to call the police because there was clear physical abuse happening. The fighting went from 12:00 am-3:00 both nights. I recorded the audio. Contacts the police and contacted the property owner. The property owner told me it would be taken care of and promised he would call to discuss the situation. I sent the audio to the owner. Never heard from the owner or the police. Not a safe place to rent. ##### Stacy M. Séjour de 3 nuits en août 2025 ### 6/10 – Acceptable #### carin G. 13 août 2025 Points forts : Propreté Positives: Inside the house is cute and the light rail was just a few blocks away, as advertised. Negatives: we learned that the air conditioner is controlled by the basement tenant & when we arrived the first night, the house was quite hot inside because the weather had been hot for a few days. We had to contact the owner who then had to contact the tenant to turn on the a/c unit. It was fine at first but then the tenant turned it off during the night & everyone in our party was too warm to sleep. The same thing happened the next day. We had to ask the owner to contact the tenant again to turn the a/c back on. It was a hassle & shouldn't have happened. The upstairs unit should have its own system, independent of the downstairs unit. Especially when customers are renting a space that advertises having "air conditioning". Otherwise, there should be a disclosure that the thermostat can be controlled by someone not even living in the space you've rented. The owner should be more upfront about how that system works. Also to note, the house next door is abandoned and boarded up and the yard is completely overrun with 4' high weeds. While I understand one cannot control one's neighbors, it just makes the area look really rundown & feel a bit unsafe. Also, the basement tenant smokes and the smoke was coming into the upstairs unit through the vents so we had to deal with cigarette smoke on top of it all. There were 5 of us adults staying for a couple of days in Seattle before leaving on a cruise to Alaska. We really liked the fact that the house was easy to get to by the light rail from the airport. And we could easily walk the couple of blocks to the light rail to get into and out of Seattle for sightseeing. We even took the light rail to the stop nearest the cruise terminal and were able to walk from there. So we didn't need a rental car which was great. What was surprising was that it was also an easy several block walk to an area with lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. So the location was excellent for what we wanted to do. The neighborhood houses on each side are a bit rundown, but there are some newer houses on the street, so it is beginning to turn around. We felt safe. There is a tag for 1 car for on-street parking, which is nice if you have a car. The inside is spacious and comfortable. The previous renters had damaged the sofa and the owner had it replaced while we were there taking care to ask us ahead of time if they could do so. While we didn't cook, there were utensils, dishes, etc. if you wanted to. The washer and dryer were also a nice touch for a longer stay. It was hot, but the house has air conditioning which was nice. It was nice to have 2 bedrooms and 2 baths for the 5 of us. There is also a sofa bed. The owner was very nice and easy to communicate with. Charming old house. Our bunch starting referring to it as “home” when we’d head back from our daily ventures. Great access point to the Light Rail! We were able to check out a Saturday evening farmer’s market in the neighborhood, complete with a band and dancing, and found Columbia City to be a perfect choice for our stay. ##### Jessica W. This two-bedroom, two full bath home was less than 5 minutes to the light rail which made it super convenient to get to the airport, the baseball stadium, the ferry and downtown attractions. The owner was very responsive and allowed us to store our luggage in the house before check-in while the cleaners finished up. The home was very comfortable for my husband and me and our son and daughter-in-law. ##### Ellen C. Enjoyed staying in Columbia City. The house is very close to light rail, which is convenient to getting to most Seattle attractions, as well as only a few blocks to a grocery store and restaurants. As another guest noted, there isn't sheets for the pull out couch, which would be nice, but we were visiting family so we borrowed some from them. House does have a coffee maker, but no coffee, so we again borrowed some from family. If you don't want to brew your own, Olympia Coffee is about a 4 block walk, so there are options! Another thing to note is that there is construction in the neighborhood. Didn't bother me any, but they did start working pretty early in the morning. Thanks for a great stay! Overall, the house worked well for us. Would stay there again. ##### Emily W. Séjour de 4 nuits en juillet 2023 ### 8/10 – Bien #### Nicole S. 27 juin 2023 #### Quick weekend in Seattle When we arrived, the door code wouldn’t work but we had fast communication with the host and were able to get in quickly. Our family (4 adults) stayed in this rental which was in excellent proximity to the light rail (5 min walk). If you have mobility issues, this wouldn’t be the house for you as there are steps leading up to the main door and then many up to the second floor. When we arrived, the house was extremely warm but once we opened up the windows it cooled off nicely. There was no air conditioning. We had someone sleep on the couch so felt safe enough to leave all main windows open at night. The traffic noise is quite loud but again, it out ways the location of the house to the train station. The house is located between two vacant run down homes so at first impression, we were unsure of the safety of the place but after the first night, became more comfortable with it. Our one mistake was leaving some boxed muffins on the kitchen counter overnight so we encountered many little ants all over in the morning - just be sure to put all food into the fridge once done eating. Bedding and towels were clean and the house gave us more room than a hotel to spread out and visit. ##### Nicole S.
