I stayed in Room 4, which I think may have been is one of the nicest in the hotel — bright, comfortable, and with beautiful views over the green hillside, the pebble beach and the ocean. It was very peaceful and a lovely spot to relax. The location at the mouth of the inlet was perfect for watching the world go by, and the room and bathroom were both clean and comfortable, with lots of charm for such an old building. Service was a little mixed. Staff were polite but many not particularly friendly, and communication could have been better — for example, the water was turned off for a few hours on the first morning without anyone letting me know - I only realised when I was standing in the shower. I booked this room to attend my friend’s wedding in Lyme Regis. The location was amazing but the downside was there was no parking and I had to pay for 24 hour parking in a nearby car park. The bed was very comfortable and it was great to have bath sheet towels rather than just bath towels. However, it was not made clear was that the bathroom while only for my use, was actually located across a shared landing. Noisy floor boards so you could hear people moving around. Food was good but little more expensive than normal Green King prices. Recently stayed in a Wetherspoons Hotel as well, who provided a lot more tea/coffee/hot chocolate etc in the room. Would be an idea to increase at the Anchor. Great location with some on site parking but we couldn't use it so park on the road. Friendly welcome. Clean room with awesome sea view. Great food. Comfortable bed. Little tired room but I think it suits Seaton and Beer being a little quaint and British!
