Seal Rock! The Seal Rock Cottage is a wonderful oceanfront one level home and the perfect beach getaway for friends and family. Perched on a bluff overlooking the ocean, you can stay inside and watch the moods of the ocean from the wall of windows that flood the living room with light or relax on your deck, sit back and lounge in the sunshine. The inviting open floor plan offers a comfy living room, a large inviting dining table for sharing meals, and a well-appointed kitchen. The wood burning fireplace provides extra comfort and ambiance while watching a storm roll in. The master bedroom has plenty of space with an ensuite bath, king bed, extra seating and a peek of the ocean. The second bedroom is a lovely room with a queen bed and a bath across the hall. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms you will be sure to be comfortable as can be during your stay. The separate game room offers plenty to do after spending the day exploring the coast. Choose from ping pong, foosball, Connect Four or an arcade game that includes Pac-Man to enjoy during your stay. Outdoor adventure abounds in this area. Beach access can be found just a short walk down Raspberry Lane or take on the more challenging path at the end of Huckleberry Lane. There are great tide pools nearby at Seal Rock State Recreation Area. Bring your kayaks and standup paddleboards because this home is a short 2 minute drive north to Brian Booth State Park and the gorgeous Beaver Creek area, popular for paddle sports and wildlife viewing. You are just a short drive to Newport where you can visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, or walk along a working bay front and enjoy fresh seafood either cooked to perfection onsite or bought off a boat for you to prepare at home. While in Newport, hop over to historic Nye Beach for additional shopping and restaurant enjoyment! \*Seal Rock Cottage has an EV Charging station so that you can charge at your destination- not on the highway - making this destination a home away from home for you and your EV. It was on a bluff above the beach, but the walk down was super easy and we were able to go every day. We spent three weeks here and had a great time. The property company is a little weird about their towels, but they were also easy to work with, very accommodating and helpful. Only gave four stars on the neighborhood because of some angry neighbors that gave us trouble. They didn’t care for our dogs, which were on leash and picked up after. But they got out of the house of leash once and that angered them to no end. And they just didn’t like it when our dogs barked, which was pretty much only when their dog barked at ours (which ironically, was off leash most of the time). Usually I give a pass on these things because I understand that locals don’t like tourists in rentals and I get that, but when they yelled at my children, that free pass evaporated! Regardless, this wasn’t the management company’s fault, and the neighbors were easy enough to deal with, we just smiled and waved at them. ##### Carter H. It is awesome! And the owners have thoughtfully left some good binoculars for close-ups of life on the water below. The living area is perfect and we ate every meal at the table looking out at the ocean. The kitchen is extremely well stocked, however, cabinets and trash pull-out could use a thorough cleaning. There are oceanfront windows across the entire living area. A huge fireplace (too bad you can only burn the fake compressed logs) for cool nights. Living room furniture could use some updating, but was comfortable. Plenty of towels, pillows, blankets, etc. The sheets could be a little nicer but didn't hurt our great sleep. Master bed is very soft, but not a problem for us. Biggest issue: TINY showers with very high and non-adjustable shower heads. We'd still stay here again. Worth a mention is the very very good coffe shop/bakery a mile south on the 101, Seal Rock Espresso and Bakery. The best coffee I've ever had and outstanding pastries (must try the ham and Swiss croissant)!! Sweet Homes made our check-in/out super easy and provided a very good experience. ##### Virginia D. Amazing views and a great game room. Kitchen is well stocked. The primary bed is very soft and lumpy and sofa was hard as a rock. Even with these small things, it was an almost perfect stay. We saw whales and eagles. The beach paths were no problem for us. Great week at the beach! ##### Amy C. Very peaceful and relaxing! The sound of the ocean was soothing & walks on the beach were amazing! My only suggestion would be to trim down the hedges in front of the deck as they obscure a lot of the view from inside the house. I would definitely stay again! ##### Kathy H. The view is amazing from the entire main living area. The house is clean on the surface but needs some attention in the trash area, kitchen cabinets and drawers. The second bedroom bed is wonderful, but the master bed is soft. They need la new lawn guy, he leaves a mess all over the front of the house. That being said we would stay here again. ##### Carol P. The cottage was very clean and well appointed. The kitchen was well stocked and the furniture was comfortable. The view of the ocean from the wall of windows is spectacular. Nothing better than washing dishes while watching the waves roll in! We had amazing weather and enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the ocean while drinking coffee or reading a book. We hope to return to this special vacation home. ##### Nancy S. The view is great and the location is really nice (and quiet). The ocean view is panoramic and the bald eagles nesting at the end of the road provide unexpected added entertainment. The only note we had was that if it were possible to angle the shower head in the master bathroom down more, that would be helpful. ##### James B. It's greatest appeal is the marvelous and expansive ocean view. We plan to come back! One small drawback: the check-in process is not terribly guest-friendly: after arriving at 5 pm, it's tedious to have to go through a series of questions, immediate evaluation, etc., when settling in is the first priority. ##### elizabeth a c.
