(1,050 reviews) I liked the more old-fashioned style and wooden furniture of this place, but various things were a bit worn and the bathroom floor looked rather dirty. Unfortunately, the drains have cockroaches; two showed up from the bathtub drain during my stay. (Plug the drain when not in use if you visit.) In other words, the place needs some work, but not too bad considering the very low price and great location. The front office staff were also very polite and helpful. Buyer beware if travelling with a car though, self parking can get a little bit confusing and expensive, as well as the opening/closing schedule being sometimes inconvenient. The mine is great but the Historic Mill is incredible. This was built by hand in 1921 when the mine was only accessible by boat. It's in a stunning location and is used for the movie business. Apparently it takes over an hour to reach the top of the staircase and when it was first built there were no handrails. Take the tour and wander around the other exhibits for an hour or so.
