This was our second stay at the cabin. The location was perfect for our trips to Lookout Mountain, Rainsville, Scottsboro, and Decatur. The host is wonderful and very responsive to any questions. The cabin is small but perfect for our group of 3\. My daughter likes having her own space in the little bedroom off the kitchen. We recommend to get a burger at Pikeville Store and Grill in Scottsboro. The owners are just precious. We also loved Toki Sushi in Rainsville. Get the white fish tempura appetizer and the “pizza sandwich” sushi roll. It is amazing. We had fun shopping at thrift stores. We also visited Cloudland Canyon for a short hike to beautiful views. The owner went above and beyond what is expected for a weekend rental. The kitchen was stocked with all basic cooking supplies, seasonings, paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap, etc. The large bathroom includes a washer and dryer. There were plenty of basic supplies, with all the cabinets labeled so there was no guessing what was there. Everything was extremely clean and convenient. The communication was excellent. There was a storm while we were there, and they checked on us to make sure we were ok. When we had a question about the heater, they came right away to show us what to do (nothing was wrong, we just didn’t know how to turn it off). We have rented several VRBO properties and this owner was by far the best we have encountered. We were in town for a high school bass tournament at Goosepond Marina and the location was perfect. We recommend Liberty for breakfast, and Pikeville Store and Grill for the best cheeseburgers you will ever eat. The cabin has some quirks, like low ceilings, but we are all short so it wasn’t an issue for us. There are steps down to the bathroom level so if mobility is an issue for you, you might need to think about that. Again, for us, this wasn’t a problem.
