The meals were very good, great choice for breakfasts, lunch and evening meals. Our room was very clean, housekeeping provided every day. The only problem we had was with the stairs , two flights up and one down to our room, both elderly with mobility issues. We did discover after our arrival there is a ground floor room available, unfortunately it was occupied so we couldn't ask to change rooms. We had everything we needed for a short overnight stay while finishing the Cleveland Way. The food in the pub was nice and generous portions. Not the most amazing ever but it did the job. We loved sitting by the cosy fire at dinner and breakfast was generous, quick and easy.
