The house has a large front yard in a quiet street, so plenty of space for parking, and the day before your arrival I will send you a message with further information on how to get to the house and into the Carriage house. We are proud to say that this is an eco-friendly space with state-of-the-art WaterSense certified, low-flow water fixtures and LED lights, and Energy Star refrigerator, as well as double pane windows, an ultra-quiet, low energy, amazing air conditioning / heating system, and fully insulated structure. Our house is a place to stay while you are out enjoying yourself, day or night, but coming here intoxicated, making loud noises, etc, is not acceptable. Please be respectful of me, my neighbors and possibly other guests or you'll be asked to leave. The carriage house is located in the back of the lot where my home is. It is halfway between charming Historic Downtown Savannah and the fun beaches of Tybee Island, about 10-12 minutes either way. Nearby you will find grocery stores, pharmacies, bars and restaurants for your convenience - driving distance. On our tranquil neighborhood island, you can ride your bike or go on a stroll safely and secure, away from major traffic interference. Across the street is Turner's Creek, and the sunsets in the neighborhood are fantastic! I am pleased to say this is a gay friendly, smoke-free, two-story, turned into a one-story 15 ft ceiling space, custom built home by one of the island's developers back in the 1970’s, however, completely renovated down to studs. We live in the house in the front, so if you need assistance we're home most of the time, however, you have plenty of privacy to come in and out as you please. In the loft feel-like Carriage house there is a Full size bed, and a sleeper sofa that sleeps one. There is an utility kitchen with basic modern conveniences, such as a compact refrigerator to store your food and drinks, a Keurig coffee machine, so you can enjoy coffee at your convenience (we provide limited condiments), as well as a microwave - basic kitchen utensils provided as well. The spa feel bathroom has a large tiled walk in shower, and an oversized vanity counter for all your conveniences. Well behaved non-shedding dogs (up to 25 lb.) are welcome (for a non refundable fee), however, if any damage is noticed upon departure, we reserve the right to open a claim for damages. They must be potty trained, and long haired, shedding dogs are not allowed, and please pick up after your pets, specially in my back yard, where the dog must be on a leash at all times. Just outside the door there's a deck with furniture on the large grassy back yard, with a partial privacy fence, so you can enjoy your quiet time. There is a heat pump mini split to heat and cool the space. Some of the flowers and trees on property include: banana trees, palm trees, begonias, impatiens, lantana, bridal veil, Mexican heather, marigolds, snap dragons, petunias, gloxinias, African violets, tons of ferns, confederate jasmine, morning glories, mimosa tree, azaleas, gardenias, walking iris', hibiscus, dogwood, rose plants and confederate rose trees, to name a few; all of this on 1/2 acre. Video surveillance in use: We have video surveillance outside the property for safety recording at all times. There is a video camera outside in front of the garage door and one outside by the yellow gate, in the back yard, which are always on and always recording. The house has a large front yard on a quiet street, so plenty of space for on street parking, and once you reserve and send the agreement back, you will receive a door code, that will let you in and out at your convenience, 24/7\. Upon booking you will be required to sign and return the rental agreement/ contract prior to door code being sent. It was 36 degrees outside and we weren't getting any heat in a pretty small space 380 sq ft. Got through the night and reached out to host first thing in the morning - they offered a space heater. We declined as I am not comfortable with them due to a previous incident with a family member. Offered a blanket. That wasn't going to help. Was never offered help troubleshooting assistance or to have a member of what they later referred to as the Maintenance TEAM come out to help us. Just started quoting policy and procedure, then after we vacated asked for proof we didn't have heat. What the heck. We are mature 60 year old adults and were treated pretty poorly. Ruined Thanksgiving vacation since we had to vacate and drive six hours back home. I'm sure they'll have some clever response to this and the place was quite lovely otherwise - clean and just perfect for what we needed, but it was COLD. A little compassion and assistance could have possibly solved this since they said it was working fine when they sent a member of the team AFTER we left and then basically accused us of being dishonest about it. We directly messaged them as soon as we vacated, but could not modify or cancel the booking with vrbo. Host then told us since we didn’t cancel, they wouldn’t refund anything. Had to fight with vrbo about all this since the Host fell silent. ##### Gina C. It is perfect for a couple that wants to be close to Tybee. It was very clean and the place was adorable. We loved the little signs posted throughout. The host Steven was great. Very straightforward and answers any questions you have right away. We would make a suggestion though.... maybe an awning or something that you could sit under outside when it rains. While it's located in their backyard, you are completely away from the renters Andy and Steve (who btw are amazing). Andy and Steve gave us so many ideas for stuff to do and food places to choose from. You are about 15 minutes from downtown and 15 min from the beach. The spot can be small so not for the claustrophobic but worked well for us. The shower is amazing. Lastly, the bed is a full so if you are used to a queen or king it can be a tight fit but worked well for us! ##### Michael M. It was cute, quaint, peaceful, and clean. Steve and Andy were amazing. Easy to talk to and ask questions if needed. I would definitely stay there again!! P.S. It was very clean and met our needs; however, very small bed, not a full size refrigerator but more like dorm. Bathroom was very nice. Had problem with signing into WIFI which Steve addressed. Also, yard in need of TLC. We cut our stay a day short because bed was too small and pull out sofa not comfortable for us. We were on the go and hate to complain. We drove up for a four day getaway and couldn't be happier. We met Steve on the day we left for home. Super nice guy. The Carriage House is such a cool place. Their property is so pretty with the fruit trees, flowers and greenery. You can tell that a lot of thought went into their renovation to turn the carriage house into a vacation rental. First time staying in Savannah since my one time as a kid, needless to say, this was a great place! Steven & Andy had a wonderful place for us, nicely decorated, lots of lovely notes and instructions laid out for us… Everything was just as we needed. The location was great for a quick drive into town, or for a spontaneous day trip to St. Augustine! Lovely place to come back to and crash at while we were in town. Would definitely come back if we’re around the area!! The location is in a pleasant, attractive neighborhood that is conveniently located to all the attractions in Savannah. This is a perfect place for a couple looking for a two or three day get-a-way.
