Summary: Welcome to Heritage Loft at The Murphy House, once the home of famed French artist Murphy, now transformed into cozy, modern apartments. Enjoy preserved historic touches alongside fresh updates and amenities. The Loft features a spacious one-bedroom, one-bathroom setting, accommodating up to four guests. Nestled on Perry Street, next to Chippewa Square, you’ll relish the prime downtown Savannah location, close to incredible dining, attractions, pubs, shopping, and more. SVR-02879 The Space: The historic Murphy House, built in the 1820s for three “spinster” sisters, later became the home of French artist Murphy, who lived here for nearly 100 years. Many of his original paintings still adorn the foyer today. Enter your unit through the main entrance on the parlor level and ascend the staircase to the second floor. Step into a fully renovated apartment featuring ample space, modern amenities, and stylish décor, anchored by refinished original hardwood floors and historic touches. The upgraded kitchen boasts new appliances, fresh white quartz countertops, and ample cabinet space. A small dining table set for four complements the fully appointed kitchen, equipped with everything you need to cook during your stay, including pots, pans, dishware, utensils, and more. A Keurig is ready to brew your morning coffee. Off the kitchen is a spacious living area with modern furniture, creating a chic vibe while offering ample comfort. Natural light floods the room through surrounding windows. A smart TV is ready for streaming your favorite entertainment. You must walk up the main staircase out front to the Parlor level, and then another set of stairs inside to get to your floor. Getting Around: Are you driving into town? There are no designated spaces but there is paid street parking directly available outside the unit (subject to availability). Still, you can park your vehicle at the Liberty Parking deck just minutes away and enjoy easy transit and walking for the remainder of your stay! Costs change but are roughly $7-15/day depending on day of week. Circling the downtown, you will see Old Town Trolleys, a great way to get around. Get in touch with us to receive your DISCOUNTED ticket. A free trolley-style City transport bus called the "DOT Shuttle" also picks up and will make a loop around the Historic District. The closest stop for this one is just a block down the street at the corner of Drayton & Perry! Want more options? Great property in a great location off of Chippewa Square. We were in town for a wedding and enjoyed three nights at the property. Was in close walking proximity to all the locations you would want to see downtown and was centrally located between the river and Forsyth Park.
