From the outside nice looking old hotel. Inside it was rundown and not the cleanest. We only had one towel and the coffee maker still had old grounds in it. No where to hang clothes or even put your luggage
My biggest complaint is the community bathrooms that were not mentioned in the description of the hotel. Small rooms, poor water pressure in the community bathrooms and no air conditioning, which was also left off of the description. I wouldn't stay here again for free.
Small room but recently renovated (including the bathroom). Comfortable and close to sites such as the Bush Plane Heritage Museum and the boardwalk. Historic hotel, a unique experience.
I can see how some people wouldn't like the Algonquin--it's not a super modern place in a picturesque part of the city. But it has tons of character, comes with your usual wi-fi and TV, and the price is nice.
The hotel is almost 130 years old Victorian style building, very modern rooms, great staff, I was really impressed that I was a little late for my check-in and was offered that I could check-out a little later in the morning if I needed to...very nice. The price is amazing, I am definitely making my reservation right away for my trip back through northern Ontario @ The Algonquin Hotel in Sault Ste Marie...Thank You, for making this a wonderful stay on my travels.

Tired.
Just needed a place to sleep.
Good night.
Clean, friendly staff, quiet.
I cancelled my reservation on "Their" site over 3 weeks in advance and was charged for 3 nights. I've been trying to straighten this out but nothing. "Renter Beware"!! I will never make reservations there again or stay there.. Have posted my experience on my FaceBook!!

Well located hotel with really friendly staff.
I stopped on thos hotel on my to Toronto amd had a very good sleep.
Small room with 1 bed. there is no table. The private washroom has old bathtub with no head-shower, which make it unusable. There is no elevator so you will have to climb wooden stairs with your stuff. The reservation was on wrong date which they didn't cancel and the hotel charged me again. I had to call the hotel and Expedia, but I didn't get back my money. This hotel needs tear down and rebuild with new standards and new owners. Don't go there...
Very cool old building. Bad thing about this hotel had shared bathrooms down the hall but luckily we booked the suite with private bathroom. Friendly owners. Nice walking distance to water/boardwalk
We had a great stay, evening staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and engage our kid-he really felt special! Only hotel we found with movies and the character of the building was really charming!
