Whether you like cooking gourmet meals for large groups or romantic dinners for 2, BBQ'ing on 1 of 2 gas grills (one for inclement weather), sunbathing in a recliner on the lawn, sitting in front of a wood stove, watching Netflix, listening to a Hi-Fi stereo, doing yoga or soaking in a 6' tub, here in the Catskills you'll find every opportunity to unwind and restore your spirits. This log cabin is ideally suited for hosting a yoga retreat, a family get-together or a birthday/anniversary celebration. Our log house is located in one of the most picturesque and fun-filled areas of the Hudson Valley. You're within a 10-minute drive of Kingston, NY, the 1st capital of New York State, which happens to have an impressive array of restaurants. Rhinebeck, Red Hook, and New Paltz are also popular destinations and are within a 15-minute drive while Woodstock is only 20 minutes away. All 4 places have lots of exciting restaurants that feature locally grown ingredients and farm-to-table cooking. Between those nearby towns and Saugerties, you'll be busy eating out, visiting local farms and vineyards and enjoying other activities such as hiking, shopping, horse-back riding, golfing, playing tennis, boating, sunbathing and having all sorts of fun. Guests to the equestrian Horse Shows in the Sun (HITS) events in the summer will find the house conveniently located in the same town of Saugerties as the shows themselves. The breathtaking Kaaterskill Waterfalls are in the vicinity as is the spectacular Overlook Mountain - both famous hiking & bird-watching destinations. Saugerties Lighthouse is nearby and is renown for its beauty, with a trail excellent for bird-watching leading up to it. Mountain Top Arboretum is a short ride away with its natural beauty, classes for adults and kids and trails to hike on. Esopus Creek is not only well known for its fly-fishing in the Hudson Valley and the Catskills but far, far beyond. The nearby North-South Lake, a 1,100-acre oasis near Palenville, New York is famous for its hiking trails, swimming beaches, and small boat rentals. The Sunset Rock / South Taconic Trail provides a reasonably challenging hike along some of the most scenic vistas in the Catskills. Ready for a yoga retreat? This is a perfect setting for it too! Saugerties also has a thriving literary scene and is home to Inquiring Minds, an independent book store, which holds readings by prominent authors. There's also a thriving auction house marketplace where visitors and local residents meet and compete for an eclectic mix of art, furniture and various artifacts. The first thing that caught our eye was the beautifully lit Christmas tree, glowing through the windows! It immediately set the tone creating a warm and festive atmosphere that made our Christmas family vacation feel extra special.From the moment we arrived, the cabin felt incredibly comfortable and cozy. Everything was spotless, well organized, and clearly cared for with great attention to detail. The kitchen was stunning and had everything we needed to cook and enjoy meals together. The bedding was comfortable and the bathrooms were fully stocked with towels and essentials making our stay feel effortless. The house and surrounding gardens were beautiful, Yuri communicated with a couple of times to be sure everything was going well, and the kitchen was just amazing! Our only suggestion for improvement - closets were pretty scarce, so some racks for hanging clothes in the bedrooms would be helpful. There was plenty of drawer space, an abundance, of towels, plenty of paper products and bath supplies, but some added hanging areas would be great. But overall, it was just a pictured! What a wonderful place for relaxing and gathering! Our family enjoyed every moment! A huge, very well appointed pro kitchen with high end accessories dishes, glassware, and cutlery, make cooking and entertaining a pleasure. Gorgeous uncluttered decor, loads of comfy seating, and an excellent entertainment system allow you to relax and enjoy. Beautiful bathrooms with walk in showers, quality soaps , and an excellent soaking tub in the master bath. Lovely grounds, lots of outdoor seating and a yurt for chilling out! Everything is so tastefully done. Our host Yuri has been wonderful - friendly, accommodating, and communicative. He gave us excellent recommendations for local resources and ideas how to best utilize the home. Many thanks Yuri! Area highlights include the wonderful Opus 40, Woodstock, and Bread Alone. There are many wonderful restaurants and shops within a short drive. Instacart and Door Dash can help with most food and beverage needs so you can maximize the time you spend at this superb accommodation. All in all - highest recommendations for home and host. Yuri and his wife welcomed this group of breast cancer survivors who all live life with less than 2 breasts, as if we were family. No request was unreasonable or met with any hesitation. It is large house and was accommodating for our big group but it gives the feeling of being small and cozy. Yuri, the host, is amazing. Was very accommodating and super responsive. He set out extra beds for us to make sure we were all comfortable and would respond within minutes when we needed help. We had a group of 15 for my Bachelorette party and had plenty of space. Yuri's communication was detailed and quick. The house is just as beautiful and clean as it looks in the pictures and had every amenity you could need. We all said we want to come back again! I highly recommend this property! The only recommendation I have for others renting here is to plan accordingly if using ride sharing services. We spent a night out in Woodstock and found that after 11pm there were not many cars available. We used a local taxi service to bring us back. I rented this property for a bachelorette and it BEYOND exceeded expectations. The house looks even better than it does in the photos & it is completely stocked with everything you need. We had a private chef come one night and they were stunned at how gorgeous the kitchen was and how well equipped it was! Yuri is also the best host - from before we arrived at the property until we left, he was incredibly quick to respond and so helpful.
