We had messaged the host multiple times looking for instructions to get into the property and could not get a response. About 1.5 hrs away we finally get a response that says we can't stay there due to toilet issues, but it should be fixed the next day. Host told me I would get a full refund for the first night. We stayed there the next 3 days and had no interaction with the host and no issues. Never got an apology or any attempt to make things right. I spent the next 10 days trying to get ahold of him to get my money back. This guy is the most selfish/conceded person I have ever interacted with. The place is neat, just bring your own blankets and internet if you want to watch anything. Their internet did not work for the duration of our stay. There are also cameras literally everywhere. Nothing spells romance like being watched. The last response from the host was "next time you want a taste of wealth pick someplace else." Ended up with a torrential downpour for the 18-hours of the full-day's stay. No wifi. Long-walk down a shakey, but stable wooden bridge over the marsh to the bayou. Quite secluded and romantic. For my wife’s birthday she wanted to do absolutely nothing and this is the place to do that. The cabin itself was unique in how it looked. The deck area was very large with several places to sit. My husband really enjoyed the hot tub that was on the deck. It's got a romantic and calming feel to it - like you're on your own little island. Watching the sunset next to the fire table on the deck was fabulous. Lots of outdoor toys and all the amenities you need. Treats and little touches throughout really make your stay special and Mark and Elise were very welcoming, communicative and helpful.
