Hotel is located in the north of the city outside Barcelona centre but metro close by takes you directly into Placa Catalunya ( cheap and convenient way to get around) . On arrival we were upgraded to a superior room overlooking the garden and pool. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the monsoon shower ! The lady on reception gave us maps and information regarding the tourist buses , metro system etc and directions on how to find restaurants local to the hotel that were recommended . Locally we ate at
"Montesqui" and "Dos Torres " and enjoyed both. Primero Primera is a lovely ,calm, relaxing place to stay after a hectic day trying to take in as many of the sights of Barcelona that you possibly can !
Great staff. Rooms are exactly as advertised. Stayed there in 2002 and Oct 2015. Definitely starting to show its age. The white rooms show smudges and dirt very easily. The bathroom also had signs of mold in the shower door hinges. Overall the rooms were reasonably.clean but could use some sprucing up.

When we ( 4 well travelled senior ladies ) arrived the staff at reception was very welcoming. We were very early and he willingly stored our luggage while we went out . We requested a room with a kitchen and the next day one was offered. Breakfasts compared favourably with other hotels we have stayed at - they even provided gluten free bread, products for diabetics etc. Taxies pass by frequently - all helpful for anyone with small children or has limited mobility.
A predominantly upmarket residential neighbourhood, Sarria-Sant Gervasi’s principal thoroughfare is the Diagonal, the city’s primary business and commercial district. The area is good for shopping with two branches of El Corte Inglés department store and L’Illa Diagonal mall. Neighbouring Gràcia (east) is best for a more local eating, drinking and shopping experience while and Pedralbes (north) is also well worth a visit.
