Good location. Nice rooms and amneties. Very service minded. I would reccomend.

Bad service- stay away!
I never managed to get to the hotel as they were fully booked - after having accepted to booking! I received a text message when I was almost there telling me that they were sorry but they could not accept me - but had rebooked me in another hotel. When I arrived at the “Hotel 1016” I was charged the price as per Scandic only to find out that 1) the hotel was a dump! And 2) I could have booked the same hotel in the app for half of what I paid! The room was dirty, had cracked class in the window (could not be opened as there was a danger of it falling out). I was so annoyed I went to Scandic to complain, but they only said they were sorry. I am NOT a happy customer and want a full refund. There is no way in hell I can ever recommend staying in any of the hotels again!!!!!

Friendly staff. Small room extremely small bathroom, poor cleaning, hotell needs to be refurbished. Not worth the price.

Acceptable but with some major issues
Felt like a worn down hotel that’d been renovated to an ok standard, but nothing fancy. Plus: Great breakfast Minus: No way to control the temperature in a room that was really warm. Silverfish in the bathroom :(

OK for short stay, lavish breakfast
Basic Scandic hotel providing everything you would expect from the brand. Hotel was rather old-schooled and rooms needed renovation, but that expected from small town hotel, beds and pillows were as thin as you can get, and neck pain was inevitable. Breakfast were lavish and you could get anything you may imagine, yet again, Scandic breakfast is always top notch :) Other than, good loaction, very central, very quiet.

We stayed in one of the suits, and it as a nice layout. The hotel is coming of years but still a nice place to stay. PS!!! The onsite parking is almost as expensive as the room.

Small rooms but going back again.
Small room with shower only - fine for me. Breakfast at top floor but no restaurant in the hotel but there is one next door accessed from within the hotel. Still, have been twice to it and have rebooked another four nights.

Nice, friendly hotel, but room is small.
The room was small but functional. The breakfast is served on the top (6th) floor with good views but there is no restaurant. There is a restaurant next door accessible directly from the hotel; but it is expensive - but so is Norway.

Very nice staff
Location was great for me, and the staff were really helpful. They kept the kitchen open a bit past closing just for me and they packed me a breakfast as I was on the road a 0530 and it was a great little take-away breakfast..

Excellent City Center hotel
The Rica Saga is located downtown in Sarpsborg. A shopping mall is adjacent and a number of restaurants are within a half mile walk. The breakfast buffet is outstanding!

Apparently, this hotel was completely renovated in 2000; however, it seems as if the hotel has been stuck in the 1970s. Everything from the broken mini-fridge with fake wood paneling to the crappy little TVs with ten channels, two of which were softcore porn, really added to a pleasurable hotel experience. The room design was ill-conceived at best. The beds barely fit two people. The hallways also exuded a strange odor usually associated with tenements from the 70s. The staff didn't know where Fredrikstad was. I would expect all of the aforementioned flaws from a New Jersey motel; however, we paid four star hotel prices for this glorified dump. I suppose if your idea of a pleasurable stay in a hotel is watching porn in a cramped bed and drinking warm beer from the broken mini-fridge, then the Rica Saga Hotel is for you. For virtually everyone else, this hotel ought to be avoided.

Disappointing
The whole hotel is in desparate need of a facelift. The elevator sounded like the Millenium Falcon failing to make the jump to hyperspace, and it resonated through the walls. There were a total of 5 parking spaces in front of the hotel, which were full; so we were directed to park in the enclosed basement - with the dumpsters and junk from the other business attached to the hotel. It was pretty disgusting to navigate past the dumpsters to enter the hotel from the unsecured basement doors... Very disappointing...

Rigtigt fint hotel med super service, desværre var der utroligt koldt på værelserne, så det var meget ærgerligt, jeg ved godt at det frøs 20 grader de første dage, men virkede som om det trak hele tiden. Super sødt og venligt personale. Rengøring var ikke særligt grundigt og 2 dage var sengen ikke redt 😢

Greit rom, hyggelig betjening. Mørkt! altfor lite lys. Skulle være enkelt å sette opp en taklampe. Kaldt, men det var svært kaldt ute, så det har vi forståelse for.

Meget fornøyd med oppholdet på Scandic
Kjempefint hotell. Hyggelige og serviceinnstilte ansatte! Kommer garantert tilbake her. Ryddige rom og lobby. Sentralt i Sarpsborg. Meget god frokost, likte og at frokosten varte til kl 11 sånn at vi som liker å såve lenge fikk mulighet til dette. God atmosfære. Døgndrift i resepsjonen sånn at vi følte oss trygge da vi sov. Egen minibar med brus, vann og snacks i resepsjonen, svært bra. Stort pluss at egon var rett på siden av hotellet sånn at vi kunne spise middag der og slippe å kjøre avsted.

Ett mycket centralt boende som håller hög kvalitet. Rum, städning, reception, frukost, bara positiva ord att nämna. Men ett problem finns att åtgärda. Nu liksom senast jag bodde här fungerade inte alla tv-kanaler utan störningar gjorde vissa svåra att se. Något att ta tag i. Men se detta mer som en randanmärkning.

Hei, vi var veldig misfornøyd med komforten på rommet. Varmeovnen sto på fullt men det var alt for kalt i rommet. Badet var nesten ubrukelig,når man dusjet var det vann overalt. Det var heller ingen plass å henge av seg tøyet på badet. Vår siste overnatting på dette hotellet
