weedy lake

Lake was too weedy to swim. Grounds covered in goose poop. Downstairs bedroom was stuffy with no window or ventilation

Excellent stay, but..

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin in Saranac Lake. The view of Ampersand Bay is gorgeous and the location is fantastic! We spent a week cross country skiing and hiking, and the cabin suited our needs. Overall, it was very clean and had everything we needed. The property manager responded quickly to questions. A few things to note: the wi-fi info in the binder is incorrent; we needed to use the info on a little sign on the kitchen counter.. no big deal. What was a bigger deal was the fact that there's no insulation between the units, so we could hear our neighbors clearly and they could hear us, which was rather awkward. It's not the property manager's fault.. it's the way these cabins are constructed but it's something to consider. One other issue was the hot water situation. I was really excited about the jetted tub after a day out skiing in very cold weather, but the water was just luke warm. I resolved this issue by boiling a kettle of water on the stove and pouring it in. Overall, we were satisfied with our experience and would recommend this rental, as long as privacy isn't a big concern.
