Easy 20 minute flat walk from Otaru station, or a 10 minute walk up a slight hill from Miniami Otaru. Supermarket, convenience stores, and public bathhouse all within 10 minute walk from the hostel. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Bunk bed was comfortable and spacious. Toilet was a little small and ceiling was quite low in some places, but nothing far from the norm of a traditional Japanese household. The people here are so nice and friendly and make you feel like you're part of their little family in the house. It almost feels like a homestay experience. One time I missed the last train so I returned the next morning and they were all worried about me. The place is very clean and has all the amenities you need.
