You will find that this house has everything that you will need: a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, a fireplace, large outside deck. When you are enjoying your time on the great deck you will be enjoying the expansive mountain view. The parking area is right outside the front door. Guests can enjoy fishing at Hogback Lake which is ten minute walk from our house. For guests who desire an active stay, our Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Sapphire Valley amenities\* offer: golf, tennis, mountaineer putt-putt golf, two heated pools, outdoor pool, hot tubs, sauna, game room, fitness room, jogging track, ski/tubing area (winter months). Fairfield Lake is 8 minutes from our house and is perfect picnic spot and has a nice hike around lake. Pontoon rentals are close by at Signal Marina on beautiful Lake Glenville. \*With this rental, adult guests (children under 14 are free) can purchase a guest pass for $5 a day or a week for $25\. The pass allows a guest to have access to all of the amenities at Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Sapphire Valley. This also includes reduced greens fees at Sapphire National Golf Course. Entertainment: Stop by the Sapphire Valley Resort Community Center (located on Hwy 64 approximately 4 miles from the house) and get your amenity card for resort activities. They have a schedule/calendar of activities that you can pick up. The check in process was difficult because the cleaning crew was still working at the scheduled 4 PM check in. We had to leave and come back an hour later to allow them to finish cleaning the bottom floor. As a result, it was clear that the cleaning was rushed, and several areas were missed.The main living space is cute and cozy, with a large wood burning fireplace, and the back patio is spacious with a nice view of the mountain. However, the rest of the home felt very outdated and in need of repairs. In our opinion, if a home is being rented as a vacation property, it should be properly maintained and updated to provide a comfortable stay.On a positive note, the owner was very responsive and refunded the cleaning fee, which we appreciated. Overall, though, the property did not meet our expectations. ##### Joely D. It’s old, tired and dirty. Smelled musty. Practically falling down. There was food debris on counter chairs, dining chairs and cabinets. We were asked to take our garbage with us. We did not. Asked to start the laundry and there was no detergent. When we got there the “owner’s manual “ had paper taped to the TV section telling you no direct tv, use your own phone for a hot spot and stream your own subscriptions. Baseboard heaters were literally falling apart. Grill was too dirty and greasy to use. And parking was really difficult. We brought our dog along, which made the gated porch a really nice feature for us. The location is great, as well, near a lot of different hikes. The views were beautiful and we were able to grill and drink our morning coffee out on the porch. We were also able to use the fireplace in the evenings, which was made for a lovely ambience. The house is comfortable and with a roaring fire in the stone fireplace, it was the coziest place ever! It's convenient to anything you need (even a Starbucks!) and plenty of nature literally right outside your door! The location is close to hundreds of hiking trails, mountain biking and road cycling. The town of Cashiers is loaded with cute shops and restaurants and a great grocery store. We loved our stay and look forward to going back in the future! ##### Maureen K. It seemed very neglected. Missing remotes, clocks with dead batteries, old musty smell, no full length mirror, dryer doesn’t work well. Main bathroom was gross. The main living area is cozy and perfect size. We didn’t use the upstairs as it was just two of us. Good location, 15 minutes to Cashiers and 30 minutes to Highlands. We also went to Asheville and it was about 1 1/2 hrs. Lisa is very communicative and easy to work with. We had a great stay. ##### Karin S. The cabin is in a perfect location central to the waterfalls and hiking trails in the area. The cabin is spotless clean and has everything you need.
