You’ll feel right at home the moment you step inside the villas beautiful interior, boasting extravagant furniture and fittings. Massive windows, with electric shutters, throughout the property frame expansive views of the surrounding countryside. This welcoming villa has everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay, including high speed wireless internet access plus 4 flat screen Smart TVs and DVD players – sure to appease all your entertainment needs during your holiday. The large pool terrace, bathed in sunshine all day during the summer months, is very private and enjoys magnificent hillside and distant sea views, creating a dazzling backdrop for your trip. Imagine yourself soaking up the Algarve sunshine on the large pool terrace; you pick up a glass of your favourite drink and gaze over the wonderful countryside and distant sea views, then notice the only thing you can hear are birds and cicadas. At that moment you step into the large crystal clear pool for a refreshing dip and discover that feeling of peace and tranquillity. Finally; you have escaped modern life and feel relaxed and revitalised. Quinta Fonte do Cascalho is set in 2 acres of gated grounds amid the tranquil Algarve hills; just 20 minutes north of Faro airport and on the edge of the Portuguese town of Sao Bras de Alportel; full of traditional charm with many street cafes, restaurants, banks, tourist office, shops and supermarkets. Restaurant and bar prices are more to the locals liking rather than the inflated rates in tourist resorts. This is an ideal location for people who want to get away from it all and enjoy a relaxing holiday in privacy yet the beautiful beaches of the Algarve are just a short distance by car, plus having easy access to all the holiday attractions the Algarve can offer. This modern, fully air-conditioned, country house is finished to very high standards for comfort and entertainment. The large entertainment area has a generous dining table with capacity for 8 people; and the spacious lounge has a leather 3 seat sofa with two leather recliner chairs; perfect for watching a film or your favourite program on the large Smart TV with surround sound. This area also contains the central WiFi hub with your own personal and private network for high speed internet access. For the cooler months of the year, there is a cosy log fire in the lounge and air-conditioning provides heat throughout the rest of the villa. The modern farmhouse kitchen, fitted with granite worktops and large AGA range cooker, has all the utensils and equipment you will need for the preparation of meals. There is a large brick-built charcoal BBQ adjacent to the kitchen, for cooking during those lovely balmy Algarve evenings. In addition to the dining table in the villa, food can be enjoyed alfresco on the upper BBQ terrace table with seating for 8\. There is also seating on the lower pool terrace where you can enjoy a drink and nibbles at the end of the day and reflect on what you have; or have not done. If dining out is your desire; there are many fine dining and casual restaurants providing traditional or international cuisine throughout the immediate area. The master suite, with own private terrace, occupies the entire first floor of the villa and provides ‘360 degree’ panoramic views. It has a king size ‘Duxiana’ bed, with multi-positioned headboard; a full entertainment system comprising 32” flat screen Smart TV. There is also a trouser press and personal safe. The en-suite bathroom has a large corner temperature controlled spa/whirlpool bath with four preset programs to suit your mood, plus lighting if desired. The other two bedrooms have large handmade ‘Millbrook’ pocket sprung beds and individual entertainment systems of Smart TV and DVD players. Bedroom 2, which benefits from an additional private entrance, is also equipped with a trouser press and personal safe. The other bathrooms are also fitted with temperature controlled spa/whirlpool baths with four preset programs, plus lighting. The colour scheme and furniture, for the entertainment area and kitchen, has been specifically selected to provide that feeling of coolness and comfort during the long warm summers enjoyed in the Algarve. It also provides a feeling of warmth and comfort during the few cooler months of the year. All of the windows and patio doors are fitted with electric shutters to tone down the glare if needed or provide that extra seclusion if desired. Leur propriété est très bien entretenue et tout est fait pour que les locataires soient heureux ! Nous étions 6 adultes et nous avons passé 2 semaines fabuleuses dans la propriété luxueuse de Tina et Barry. Les équipements de cuisine sont de très bonne qualité et nous n'avons jamais eu autant d'ustensiles et d'appareils ménagers dans une location de vacances ! Les chambres très confortables sont bien équipées ainsi que les salles de bain, tout cela digne d'un hôtel de luxe. La climatisation dans toutes les chambres et le salon-séjour, a été très appréciée ainsi que les volets électriques et les moustiquaires à toutes les fenêtres de la maison. La piscine est très grande et l'accès par des marches de chaque côté est originale et appréciable. A noter que celle-ci n'est pas chauffée. L'eau peut être parfois un peu fraîche quand il fait du vent mais elle est délicieuse les jours de beau temps. Merci Tina et Barry pour ces vacances fabuleuses au Portugal. Nous avons été très bien reçus par Tina et Barry qui sont fort sympathiques et très serviables. La propriété était assez grande et spacieuse pour nous recevoir (2 adultes et 4 enfants). Nous n'avons manqué de rien, car il y a tout ce qu'il faut déjà sur place. On était comme à la maison. Cette propriété est située dans un endroit très calme, mais se trouve à 5 minutes de Sao Bras et des commerces, et à 30 minutes de Faro et de la plage. Ceci fait qu'on peut avoir autant la tranquillité de la campagne que le tumulte des plages. Et la piscine il n'y a rien à dire, c'était juste parfait. The home has everything, I mean everything you require and then some. Kitchen is a chef's dream and the modern grocery store 3 KM's away has all you need. Lunches at Algarve restaurants are legendary, Tavira has a great spot - Mares - and the value for money off the charts. Place is as quiet as the night, bedding excellent and Roku TV's have excellent movie apps loaded for your enjoyment. Never used the pool, turned cool during our stay. You'll have to search hard to find any better VRBO country villa, driving in Portugal painless. Thanks again to Barry and Tina for a truly memorable experience. ##### Art M. You read all the reviews and hope the reality matches. This villa beats it. Everything you read is accurate. From the lovely welcome from Christina and Barry to the cleanliness to the beautiful pool. It is the perfect location for any type of holiday. Lying by the pool to going to the beach or sightseeing in the hills, everything is within easy travelling distance. We would suggest a car is a must have. They were extremely helpfull in arranging transportation for us from the train to their location and were always easy to contact and quick to respond. We had my son and his family with us (grand kids 5 and 8) who loved the place. My son is an avid cook and fell in love with the large and well equipped kitchen. The grandkids had lots of room both inside and out to play and was a great way for them to adjust after the long trip from Canada. As well they had lots of sele tion on their smart tv's to keep everyone including the grandkids entertained in the evening. In my opinion, it is doubtful you would find more convenient and comfortable accommodations anywhere. In addition, proximity to many day-trip destinations provides for an easy manner in which to fill your itinerary. We have been renting villas in and around this area for almost 25 years and this is by far the best equipped and most well maintained property we have ever stayed in. We invariably spend the first few hours of our holiday complaining that "this doesn't work", "that's broken", "I can't get any wifi", "there are no hangers in the wardrobe", "there was supposed to be a DVD player" etc. etc. Not at Quinta Fonte do Cascalho, from the moment we walked in it was obvious that everything had been catered for and all to the highest possible standard. The house is generously proportioned with good sized rooms and a spectacular Master bedroom suite, air conditioned throughout and all spotlessly clean. The outside areas were also immaculate, the garden is very pretty and we particularly liked the large pool area and its incredible views across the countryside. Just stunning! The location is fantastic, it was lovely not to be overlooked or disturbed in any way. Aside from the occasional crow of a cockerel and the Cicadas it was absolute tranquility. As well as offering total peace and quiet we loved the fact that the house is only a few minutes drive from some excellent restaurants, well stocked supermarkets and other amenities. It also offers a great base for exploring locations further afield such as Faro, Tavira and Vilamoura etc. Tina and Barry were the perfect hosts and we literally wanted for nothing. Everything you could possibly need or even want was available in the villa from every kitchen utensil or gadget to beech towels and even access to Netflix and Disney which was ideal for our 2 small children. Any questions or issues were dealt with in a timely manner. The location was lovely and away from any busy areas I would recommend having a vehicle however as the town was a long walk, but perfectly doable. Have never had such a warm welcome - Barry even went and got us pizzas and a few beers after we had been travelling all day. A beautiful villa with a stunning view and all the wildlife (birds,butterfiles,lizards etc) especially the swallows that make it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The villa is equipped with everything you need - especially in the kitchen.It was spotlessly clean with three good sized bedrooms - two with en suite and a newly furnished shower room.Lovely sized living room with great views over the valley. The pool is of a good size and very well designed with steps either end. The villa is approx 5min drive from two supermarkets Intermache and Lidl in the local town plus a superb restaurant Ysconderijo. A car is essential with a local car hire company Amoita - highly recommended. Would highly recommend this villa and will hopefully go back one day 10/10 ##### kevin r. The villa is a fantastic base, only 20 mins away from the main beaches and the airport which is great when travelling with children. Groceries are only 5 mins away. The villa is extremely spacious and fully equipped with all the necessities for all the family. It really is home to luxury home!! It is absolutely spotless!!!!!! The Internet connection is very powerful and the (very) large TV in the living room has all the UK channels plus Netflix, Prime and many more. All of the bedrooms also have all of the channels in which was great for the kids. The kitchen has literally everything you can think of! Including 2 large fridges which was very handy for cooling drinks etc.. A dishwasher, washing machine was also very handy, and I loved the outside quirky washing line which I now have to buy!!!!! It was very hot during our stay and such a luxury to have aircon in the living room and the bedrooms. It was lovely and cool when needed. Another great thing was that the windows all had full blackout shutters so we had a really good sleep which was great. We arrived at night and straightaway the kids took advantage of the lit-up pool, it was great fun!!! The pool is a really good size and we had hours of fun in it. It was lovely to eat out on the terrace as a family. It was also nice for me to have chill time reading a book under the canopy on the comfy outside suite. The view is amazing!! The owners Barry and Tina are the loveliest, most genuine people I have met. They went above and beyond to make us feel very welcome. If we needed to know anything they were at hand. They even sorted out my car hire for me at a great price and had it delivered to the villa when I had trouble finding a car.
