Room rates are way overpriced for what they offer. I’ve stayed in nicer hotels in Thailand where I received a welcome drink, fruit basket, stocked minibar and more for half the price. None of these things were offered. The food at all outlets is shocking! I wonder if the GM ever eats there? My room was not very clean. Upon entering the room the floor was still wet from cleaning. The swimming pools are nice and location is good near to the beach, but I would not stay here again.

Comfortable stay
Check-in has slow and delayed, but they provided a late check-out which was very helpful. Breakfast was tasty, but incredibly busy and understaffed in the egg and noodle section. Overall the hotel pools and beach area were excellent. Very comfortable rooms and facilities.

Despite some early booking issues Hilton really stepped up their game and I had a great stay. I would highly recommend the Hilton Yalong Bay. The GM, Arthur cares and really took care of me. Amazing hotel, good service and great pool. I will certainly be going back

We'll be back
We'd come back. The hotel was clean, attractive, and in a good location on the beach and walking distance from outside restaurants and shopping. The room was comfortable and had a nice view of the grounds. I used the fitness centre and it was very good, but not excellent. The staff was great and the restaurant food outstanding, and not as expensive as we had feared it would be. We live in Shenzhen and are Chinese speakers, which helped. Most staff seem to not have good English skills, which is to be expected in Hainan.

Nice Resort!
A nice and well-maintained resort. The staff are super friendly and well-trained with a high level of English proficiency. The resort lacks a bit in dining options as most restaurants close the whole day despite signs stating otherwise. The dinner buffet in the "Big Kitchen" is insanely overpriced even by resort standards. Rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. Pools are very nice and clean but there is a shortage of sun beds and umbrellas during busy time. Most of the pools close before the sun even goes down (7pm) which is pretty disappointing as it forces all guests into just one pool in the evening. Spa services are top-notch and priced as such.

This is just not up to par with international Hilton property standards. Don't bee fooled by the five stars --this is NOT luxury. However, it is an alright accommodation for the money.

I really have nothing but good things to say about this hotel- everything was wonderful and relaxing. The staff were very helpful and polite and accommodating. I definitely recommend springing for the breakfast buffet included, as the Hilton is a fair distance from any other eating options I think. There are several restaurants inside the hotel to choose from for dinner, as well as an outdoor giant evening buffet (for $40 US I believe?) Well worth it if you love seafood. The Chinese fine dining restaurant is a must see if you are a foodie- they have several Chinese delicacies including Bird's Nest Soup, Hashima dessert (frog ovaries with plum soup), and local crab and seafood. They also have Western options, including NZ lamb, wasabi prawns, steaks. The breakfast buffet was huge, and provided many, many Western and Eastern options. It was akin to Golden Corral in its range of cold and hot food options, cannot recommend highly enough. Big Shoutout to Safai Paudei for being an excellent concierge! We definitely felt safe and pampered within the walls of the Hilton resort. The pools were many and gorgeous and well-maintained, the gardens are sprawling and arranged in a way that you feel in a tropical oasis, not in a hotel complex. If you get a room on the ground floor facing in, you can have a private lagoon pool right outside your sliding door that connects to the other pools. The architects really had a lot of fun! I highly recommend this hotel!

Built luxuriously, but not well designed for family vacation. Extensive pools look nice but not much places to enjoy with family. Gym is good but no good sign at a bit far location. Not much things to do, other than going to nearby shoppong mall by taxi.

Okay stay but Hilton should be better
Don’t feel Front desk staff are welcoming overall. Asked for some tissue refill by calling , Didn’t show up at all. While I m Doing checkin , two people got into a big fight due to queuing issue, which Affects our mood. Room deco and size is good , Beach is comfortable and with good chairs to relax . The person who showed us the room is helpful and friendly

Relax in paradise
Excellent location with excellent views. All you want to do most of the time is dip into your private pool or the infinite pool facing the ocean. So relax and relax, that you can have time to think or fly away your mind to nowhere.

Everything about this hotel is fabulous... accept the air conditioner. We were without air con for two nights. Moved hotel rooms twice and finally they invited the electrician to repair our air unit. However, that is my only complaint. The sights are luxurious, peaceful nature, beautiful beach and good food.

Very happy place
5-star hotel with Hawaii-like grounds (palm trees, endless pools, immaculate landscaping) and right on a very nice beach. But the thing that got me was everyone there, guest and staff, seemed very happy all the time. it was quite nice to be in a place like that. 100% recommend.

Easy access to a clean, private beach
The staff was gentle, knowledgeable and had excellent people skills. The breakfast was good. We waited in line- there was a lot of tour groups when we had breakfast around 9a.m., however when we changed our breakfast time to 7a.m, it was serene! I loved this hotel! The pools were clean. It is child friendly. The garden is gorgeous.

Did not want to leave!
While the room had good size, it showed wear and tear. We were in Building 6 on third floor. I believe there are altogether 6 buildings. We had a balcony facing the swimming pools. Sanya Hilton at Yalong Bay is a family resort with many small children mostly 1-3 years old. Older children are likely in school this being November. We found it can get noisy at breakfast but we chose to sit outdoor on the patio and that was fine. The hotel does not seem to cater to tour groups and that's how we wanted it. After breakfast, wherever we went on the grounds, it was never crowded. They have many swimming pools and so, guests are spread out. We had to get used to the shower area in the room which was an open area behind the huge round soaker tub and enclosed by 2 movable glass doors on both sides but open to the rest of the room with no wall or partition. A very open concept shower and tub. There is a small plaza 10-minute taxi ride away with many restaurants. So, you can have dinners there rather than at hotel.

Top class, as you would expect from the Hilton.
Nothing to complain about, the service was perfect, the staff are so nice and welcoming. A bit of a mix up with the beds at check-in, but that is Expedia's fault I think and Daniel from the Hotel worked hard to find a good solution. All fixed with a smile. Our room was great, perfect for us. All the staff were very helpful, the facility was fantastic and the meals (breakfast buffet and Thai-theme dinner buffet) were amazing. The pools & grounds were kept beautifully, who could complain? If you want a few days of total indulgence, then this is a great place to come. Some nice touches, including bringing around cold watermelon, cold face cloths when we were at the pool, really made this hotel stand out. The treated us like royalty, including personal attention from senior staff (Rose) and allowing us to use the facilities after check-out as we had a very late flight. We have stayed at several resorts and this was the best we have experienced. Well done and thanks for a great stay.

Generally an ok experience. Take note in the room that the complimentary water is not the Evian but the smaller bottles of local water. Also take note that (as for much of China) a vegetarian or vegan menu is not a common occurrence with even innocuous dishes often cooked in animal/fish stock. The beach is often subject to high winds so is often red-flagged for access to the sea for anything other than a paddle.

Overall staying at Sanya Hilton Yalong Bay is a fantastic experience. . The setting, the endless pools ocean and ambiance is second to none. Food and variety is good but seems expensive for all special meals or theme nights within the hotel. Less cost would keep more guests eating at the resort instead of overcharging the few who enjoyed the nightly buffett..

We spent some days with my famility in this hotel. the rooms was very unclean, ( cutted nails on the floor, expired milk for coffe, toiltes soap empty ). the swimming pool is popolated by chinese turist that use to spitting on the grass ( where normaly you walk to go to the swimming pool),, without any advice from the hotel employ. We normally go in 5 star hotels, but this one is to expensive compared to the level of servicies. most of peronnell fo not speak english I do not reccomand this hotel

Beautiful escape, but plan to be there
I had never been to Sanya before, but when we planned to go, and saw the photos of this hotel, I had to book it. First of all, the photos do not do the resort justice- it is MORE beautiful than the photos! The gardens, pools,and landscaping were amazing. The hotel staff was excellent, but you should know that this is a CHINESE Hotel, so prepare to have staff where few speak very good English, to those that don't speak any at all. The only thing I wasn't aware of is that the resort is located quite far from almost everything, so plan to use the resort as an "all inclusive". The food also tends to be quite pricey, and for the price, the food was just "ok". We would still go back again, but would plan some trips out for the day and get some different food options.

The hotel room has a big bath tub in the centre of the toilet. The view was beautiful from the balcony. I must say the food in the hotel restaurant is not bad, quite nice but expensive. There a nice pool bar there, you can try the chicken wings. The western restaurant (international cuisine) has bad service. The serving time is very slow, I waited 45-60 mins for a simple dish to be served. They served the coffee with stains outside the cup, this shouldn't be seen in a five star hotel.

The hotel is very beautiful and better than my wife and I had expected. It is close to the beach and also has a lovely array of swimming pools. We didn't dine at the hotel apart from breakfast, which had both western and Asian food to choose.

Very nice place for beach vacation
If you're looking for a beach vacation Florida-style, then this is a perfect place to go. The hotel area is huge, kind of Disney-land stylish. There are lots of small walking-paths around the resort area taking you to different small lakes or swimming-pools, and small loud-speakers hidden in the bushes along the paths play music to you, adding up to the experience. Although the hotel has many guests, the size of the resort itself makes sure that there are never too many people at the swimming pools or the beach. It's actually really comfortable and relaxing. Sanya, and Hainan province in general, is also a recommended place to go in itself. It's completely unlike the rest of China. Due to the low population, most places are really clean (including the trains), and there's a lot of nature to experience. One minus: The hotel and all the services at the hotel are really expensive. This is not the place to eat if you're on a budget. On the plus-side: There's a small aera with some really good and not-too-expensive restaurants and a supermarket just 25 minutes' walk from the hotel. Just go right and follow the street, and you'll see the place on your left. You can get a good dinner for everywhere between 50 and 200 yuan per person, depending on your choice, including a really good sea-food restaurant with fish and clams right out of the aquarium.

Great Experience for an American Expat Family Vacation
Based on written reviews plus feedback from friends who had stayed at the Hilton last year, we decided to spend five nights here in March 2011. My wife and I brought our three boys (7, 4, and 4). We got two deluxe rooms that were adjoining and booked at a special rate via Expedia. The pools are great. Lots of options that cater to all age types. Two are pools with sandy beaches, giving you an opportunity to be on the hotel main grounds but at the 'beach' in a protected way. There are a couple mild water slides that provide a nice change a couple times during the day for the kids. The outdoor bar serves food and drink at all hours. Food was actually very good. A bit pricey but not what I would consider inconsistent with any hotel restaurant at a 4-5 star resort. Great kids menu that is reasonably affordable. Quality of food was excellent. The rooms include breakfast and they do an outstanding job...it was really good variety and quality. Dinner options were limited, so we often went outside the hotel. The beach was great but the accomodations were a bit tight. Other hotels had more space between their loungers. We did take several walks to other locations to check out other hotels. Marriott, Ritz, Mangrove, Sheraton. All were nice but not one had me thinking I wish I would have stayed there...with perhaps the exception of the Ritz. That had a more refined feel to it and we at dinner at two of their restaurants. Ovreall, very pleased with choice!

Relaxing in Yalong Bay
Second time inthe Hilton Sanya and again a wonderful experience - great food - great service. The hotel was very full so the staff was streched but when something slipped,they immediately took action. One tip - take your own DVDs or games in case a tropical storm hits - the ones they rent out are too pricey for just 4 hrs.

After our busy business trip in China I with my collegues decided to have a weekend in Sanya. I was there few years ago in a neighbour hotel and this time I propose to stay in Hilton Sanya Resort&Spa which was recommended by my friend in 2008. I placed big hopes to have a great days there. But with my first steps in hotel I was disappointed. Toneless lobby, very shabby interiors, not very clean room, broken showers at the beach... a lot of things was irritate there. Аt the same time there are inadequate very high prices to stay and services. Money isn't a problem for me but my time is very expensive. I used and expected to get much more there. I woldn't recommend anybody to stay in this hotel.

Sanya, und vorallem dieser Stand ist echt sehr schön. Das Hotel ist direkt am Strand und hat kostenlose Liegen mit großen Schirmen. Die Hotelzimmer sind großzügig. Buffet ist groß und viele Restaurants. Guter Eindruck
