The house is located very close to the centre of the island but away from the very busy tourist areas. They face the south-eastern side of the island close to local residential area of Vothonas. Looking towards the east one has a panoramic sea view and the island of Anafi can be seen. The house offer a pleasurable stay for the visitor in that they make use of renewable energy sources. Τhe use of energy - saving air cooling systems and passive solar heating ensures a minimal environmental impact and is less noisy. Rain water, that falls during the winter period, is collected and used for the swimming pool and the automatic watering of the plants and surrounding gardens. Cycladic architecture at its best! However, only by driving 5 minutes, you will be in the Kamari beach, with all its attractions (many shops, bars and clubs, fine restaurants, etc). A really good option for families up to 5 adults for having some good time together, and also for really demanding guests. The minimalistic style of furnishings and decoration creates a relaxed, warm and hospitable atmosphere for the visitor ensuring a pleasurable stay. My husband and daughter and I visited Greece for the first time. We spend 3 days in Athens, and then an Amazing 3 days at the Eco House in Vothonas area of Santorini Greece. We were warmly greeted at the Port and quickly arrived at the Villa to be greeted by Stamatina. The villas are Beautiful and spacious. The pool area is wonderful! Plus, we had a homemade breakfast every morning. Also, they gave us a FREE car with a 5 night stay. There was a cute stray cat that came to visit, we named her Santorini. Everything was wonderful!! Beautifully furnished with clean, good quality furnishings and very comfortable beds. Really enjoyed our stay, good location in quiet area away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to enjoy a night out. Inclusion of a car was a bonus and absolutely necessary to explore the whole island but you need to be a confident driver on the island's narrow and busy roads. Owners were very helpful with local knowledge etc. Try the local taverna for a genuine Greek experience, cheap and cheerful. Would certainly recommend going to Perissa for an enjoyable day on the beach. We came to Santorini for our daughter's wedding and enjoyed a perfect day with dramatic scenery, some wonderful memories to treasure in the years to come. Highly recommended. ##### Lyn H.
