I recently stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. George was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring I felt welcomed throughout my visit. The view from my room was absolutely breathtaking, making each morning feel special. Additionally, the hotel was impeccably clean, which I really appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for a perfect getaway!

The staff was extremely nice, however, the rooms have barely any blankets. They are dirty, not cleaned correctly and not much effort put into cleaning. Very beautiful view, but besides that I would not recommend staying here

Reservation change issue

I will start by saying that the staff were wonderful and very helpful. They helped arrange transfers and adjusted breakfast times to accommodate our travel schedule. But I would say the physical quality of the accommodation was not up to my expectations based on the price and 4 star rating on hotels.com. I also had an issue with adjusting my reservation before my trip. Hotels.com said they could not reach Alta Vista to change my reservation, and Alta Vista told me when I contacted them that they couldn’t make a change due to my reservation being through hotels.com! Catch 22.

Alta Vista is in a great location, with unique style rooms that fit the entire vibe of Santorini. Everything in Fira was walkable and it’s basically in the center of the island, so when we rented a car it made it super easy to see everything. The actual hotel staff that we interacted with were very friendly, kind, accommodating. They brought breakfast to the room every morning, which was a nice touch. The property is slightly outdated, but nothing that bothered us, though if you’re looking for something super fancy this might not be it for you. We also had an issue at check-in where they overbooked the rooms and we were not able to get into our originally booked suite for the first night. Hotel management claimed that they “sometimes randomly upgrade other guests” and that was the reason our reservation was not what we expected. They did move us into your expected suite for nights 2 of 3, but just a warning that you might not get what you booked! That is the primary reason for 4/5 stars.

Very disappointed, not value for the money

Stayed here in 2021 and had amazing time, which is why we decided to come again to spend our babymoon. Now the vibe in the hotel was completely different and it felt like the management has changed or they just don’t care about anything anymore. The price was still high so not value for money, only good thing is the view. Go to different hotel, I left home feeling sad that I chose this hotel instead of something else and there are plenty of options on the island :( - Broken and dirty furniture. Sunbeds so worn out that they will collapse any minute. Umbrella hold together with duct tape, very dangerous as it was windy - The place needs serious renovation, paint is peeling off everywhere, white walls are yellow, moldy smell in the room, bubblegum in the ceiling of our room - No complimentary water in room anymore, we were told to go to the market to buy it ourselves - No bathrobes provided anymore and also needed to use same towels during our 3 day stay - No welcome drink provided anymore - No help with carrying our luggage. There were A LOT of steps and I couldn’t have managed to carry the luggage if I would’ve been traveling alone - And the cherry on the top: Breakfast was very VERY bad!!!! We did’t get to choose what we wanted anymore. We got served bread & butter, cereal & milk and few pieces of watermelon. We got plain, tasteless fried egg after complaining to the breakfast lady (who didn’t speak english) that there was no warm food or protein.

I feel the property needs some TLC in general this is our 2nd visit , 1st was 2019 Heart suite not as chic and 5* as it was in 2019, at best a 3* First time in 2019 was perfect greeted with prosseco and the heart suite was immaculate. Champagne breakfast each morning. This time we were not greeted with anything , taken to the wrong suite and told this was what we had booked , I spent 20 minutes and showed the email confirmation that the passion suite we were being made to accept was the same as the heart . I explained it was not as we had stayed in the heart before and paid this time for the heart ! Eventually we were given keys to the heart suit we had booked ! The beautiful window in the bathroom was being held up with chains , look un property and I can see from past pictures i have the window is the wrong way round now. Sunbeds were old and would just collapse and we were read the riot act about only using the pool and NOT sitting down in that area as we had our area and that the oool sinners belong to the two other suites . I note no other person observed these rules during our stay and nothing was said ! Best thing is the two cleaners /breakfast team for sure. Also security in the evening is poor as the no door gates are ever shut ( all the other hotels around have their gates shut all the time! Think maybe a change in management but this once chic 5* in every way is now quite poor

The view was stunning and the property was quiet and private. I’m only giving a 4 because of the lack of 24 hr concierge service. You have to coordinate with them and although they are very accommodating, the coordination of schedules is something you may not want to deal with during your vacation. Specially if you are spontaneous with your activities. The breakfast is delicious.

Lovely hotel with incredible views!

Amazing little hotel!! Very clean and comfortable. Every suite has a view of the water and swimming pool is incredible! What a view! The daily breakfast they bring to your suite is perfect. There's not really "a lobby" or staff at your disposal but still available via email or Whatsapp. The rooms are well lit and clean -only 2 comments, I wish there was a full length mirror and the bathroom door needs replacing to a more modern type. Other than that, I highly recommend this place, we had a great time!
