STAFF The staff are warm, friendly, helpful. I wanted to make the pilgrimage on foot to the hilltop basilica of the Santuario della Madonna di San Luca, situated c. 3.5km from the city centre. Seeing my determination to do this on foot, and not take public transport, the receptionist kindly worked out the best/safest route for me on a map. The walk there and back was effortless. I had an early-morning train to Padova the next day, but was reassured breakfast in the restaurant would be ready before my departure. BREAKFAST PLENTY of excellent fresh fruit, yoghurts, juices, a selection of cold meats/cured meats and cheese, a selection of hot food items, and the most scrumptious cakes.
