### In the heart of the north coast - Casa Afonso

The northern coast of Madeira Island offers a very special tranquillity, mixed with natural beauty that ranges from the sea to the mountains. São Jorge, located in the municipality of Santana, is one of these places, which begins at the sea and ends in the beautiful Laurissilva forest.  
  
From this property you can experience the best that Madeira has to offer. This pleasant country house is the great choice for small families looking for comfort in idyllic and quiet locations away from the city madness.   
  
Consisting of two floors, the property has two bedrooms: one with two single beds and the other with a double bed, both on the upper floor. On the same floor you'll find a bathroom, equipped with a bathtub, which supports the two bedrooms.   
  
On the ground floor you'll find a pleasant living room, where you'll find a sofa bed for one person, where you can enjoy socialising after a long day. Just opposite is a fully equipped kitchen and a small outdoor terrace with a barbecue. In this outdoor space, you'll find a bathroom.  
  
The property has a maximum capacity of 5 people and there is a parking space in front of the house.  
  
AREA  
The parish of São Jorge, located on the enchanting island of Madeira, is a region that offers a unique blend of natural beauty, history and local traditions. This town is about a 45-minute drive from the centre of Funchal.   
This area has many tourist attractions, but one of the most striking attractions, the Ponta de São Jorge lighthouse, offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The imposing cliffs and unique rock formations create a picturesque setting for nature lovers. The Church of St George is a religious building of cultural interest with charming architecture. Visitors can explore the interior of the church, admire the sacred art and learn about the region's rich cultural heritage. Another point of interest is the Núcleo Primitivo da freguesia de São Jorge, in Calhau de São Jorge, which houses the ruins of sugar cane mills built at the beginning of the island's settlement. The Vigia viewpoint and Levada do Rei are also two places to visit during your stay.  
  
GETTING AROUND  
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.   
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.  
  
ACCESS TO PROPERTY  
You have access to all areas of the property.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS  
\- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).  
\- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.  
\- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.  
  
ATTENTION  
Please be advised that a Tourist Tax will be charged to all persons staying overnight in the municipality of Santana. Thus, all customers staying in tourist resorts and/or accommodation establishments, aged 13 or over, will be charged €2.00 per person/night, up to a maximum of 7 nights and a maximum of €14.00 per person/stay. When you arrive, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.  
  
RULES  
We want you to feel at home. We do not ask for more than respect for neighbours and care for the property, in addition to not smoking inside the house.
