Excellent location, tiny rooms, terrible valet
We stayed several nights. First, the hotel has an incredible location, ten minute walk over a bridge to the beach and two blocks from 3rd street promenade. However, the rooms, while clean, and the pool are extremely small. On the weekend when the pool was crowded, there was no place to sit. The attendant would put names on the waitlist, but they were never adhering to the waitlist and never watching for open pool seats, so we had to look out for rare seats in the shade. Be forewarned- inspect your car closely-- The valet company, while employees are polite, scratched the left front of our 1 1/2 year old car- there is a large mark where the valet obviously hit something and paint scratched off. Unfortunately, we had already left the hotel by the time we saw it. Also, the hotel offers "beach club" on weekends- while it is nice to have a shaded seat, the young female beach attendant would not give us three chairs despite our reservation being made for three people. There were other families with four chairs, yet, even though there were three of us, she ignored my request for a third beach chair and walked away, ignoring us the rest of the time we were on the beach. Also, while the car service to the beach is nice, we were told the wait was over thirty minutes to drive back to the hotel (we ended up walking as it is a quick 5 to 10 minute walk back). The hotel also charges excessively for valet ($46/day), internet (basic is $9.99/day), & $25 daily fee.

I first want to start off by extending my most sincere apologies for the service you received by our valet and beach club teams. I will ensure we are following up appropriately with our staff to ensure this type of service does not continue moving forward. Also, a member of our valet management team would be more than happy to speak with you in regards to the damage to your car at any time, they are on property typically from 7am to 10pm.
Aside from the negatives, I am very glad to hear you were able to enjoy your time in Santa Monica as well as take advantage of our great location and experience many of our local attractions! In regards to the room size and pool chair availability, I am certain we can remedy those issues should you choose to make your way back to our property in the future. We have many different room types and I am confident in our abilities to always find the perfect room for each and every one of our guests.
