We were no more than 10 minutes from any of the major attractions, and the home itself was beautifully maintained and full of character. Once we were settled in, we truly enjoyed our time there and appreciated the effort clearly put into making it feel welcoming and homey.That said, our experience got off to a very rocky start. After a 10.5-hour drive, we arrived to find that the code we were given for entry didn’t work. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach the host by phone or message, and even Vrbo couldn't get in contact with them. We ended up waiting outside in the rain for over an hour, seriously considering alternate accommodations. Eventually, the host did respond, and we were able to get in, but it was a frustrating and stressful beginning to our trip.What added to the disappointment was the complete lack of apology or explanation for the situation—no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, despite Vrbo’s follow-up attempts on our behalf. We understand that things can go wrong sometimes, but communication and a simple apology would have gone a long way.All in all, the stay itself was wonderful, and the property is definitely worth considering for its charm and location.
