![I chose to visit this beautiful, colourful, and fascinating building for my birthday, and I was not disappointed.  Built in 1579/1580, and at one point inhabited by around 450 nuns and their servants, this sprawling complex is deceptively large inside. We spent an entire afternoon exploring its maze of rooms, cloisters and cobbled streets.  It's situated centrally within historic Arequipa and costs 35 soles to enter.  Bring a camera and plenty of space on your memory card! It's built out of sillar, a white stone made out of volcanic material commonly found in the area. "This is a great hotel. Unfortunately the room opposite mine had their tv on so load I could hear it despite being on the opposite side of the corridor, but I can’t blame the hotel for that. They asked them to turn it down but I could still hear it at 4:30am! I would nevertheless stay here again because the hotel itself is great and the staff and service is excellent and location is close to everything you want as a tourist."

"Fabulous hotel and very friendly staff. There was a minor issue with our payment on arrival. The staff quickly noticed the issue, where honest and apologetic. Paolo in particular was very helpful and friendly. The hotel also gave a free ticket to a city to apologise which very kind. Generally, the hotel is clean, well maintained. Very comfortable and has good amenities and in a good location. Will definitely stay here again and advocate that others do so too."
