Came across this hotel by chance as needed a hotel with a pool which was open in October. The hotel ticked all the boxes for myself and my 23 year old son who was travelling with me.
We stayed in the hill facing rooms - not as up to date in style as the other rooms on the front of the hotel have been refurbished but it was great for us - it had everything we needed.
The staff were all so friendly and helpful - we ate outside the hotel for our evening meal but the breakfast was amazing - whatever you could want was there.
Amazing hotel from the Grand Tour days, keeping much of that ambiance of luxury at an affordable price: the spa, the marble, the uniforms, bell rings, restaurant, period furniture, old keys, reception, view, marble stairs entry and lobby; yet, modern in comfort. I don't know how much more they could update without losing the lovely antique patina that permeates the entire hotel. (The marble/ceramic/tile bathroom is modernized leaving most of the original. Very comfortable modern beds.) Definitely tweaked my imagination and was was a highlight of the trip.

Brilliant place to stay with outdoor pool and friendly staff. Got very good room rate by booking 3mnth in advance. Only thing is you will need taxi to the centre and also they don't cook evening meals but plenty of snacks till 7pm
We stayed at Nyala hotel for 3 nights during the Easter break. The hotel was nice, rooms spacious and clean and a very good breakfast.
The only problem was getting to the beach or town centre and back,we tried walking but had trouble getting back as there are many stairs to climb from the road to the hotel so we took our car after that.
The staff were so nice and helpful, our flight was cancelled on our last evening and one of the staff called Alberto went out of his way and spent ages trying to help us find an alternative way of getting back to London.
Excellent location set 150m from the main road and beach which meant the hotel was a haven of tranquility. The superior rooms are worth every penny, spacious and well appointed. Easy walk into central Sanremo.
Near the border with France on the Riviera dei Fiori, San Remo is known for the annual Music Festival and its extensive production of flowers. Visit the casino, an ancient building in the center of town celebrating its centenary, stroll through the Old Town with its awesome cobbled streets, or sit on the beach to watch the sunset.
