Discussed specifically with property manager several days in advance whether elevator operational and advised it was. Arrived with luggage and groceries and found it was non-operational and had been for several weeks. We are seniors and negotiating three flights to pool, car and beach not easy. This was particularly frustrating as we paid standard or above rates through VRBO and owner received a premium fee above rental according to payment printout received after booking. We have been going to Sanibel/Captiva over 30 years and know weather has hurt it badly, but the elevator situation had to be known well in advance of our stay and it did have a very adverse effect on our stay. The Unit was well equipped and clean but dining room chairs need attention as legs are loose. Hope these comments don't appear petty but getting started with elevator situation put us in a bad mood which was aggravated everyday walking up and down steps. ##### j.m. v.
