Room and facilities were clean. Staff were kind and helpful. The closest hotel entry door to our room was close to the dumpster areas and it smelled terrible when you walked out of the building. Didn’t like that we had to wait long for the elevator. Arcades were very expensive considering we paid a large amount for our stay. Wish it was more affordable for families. Overall we had fun!

I went for the third time with my son this week and I have some observations: they charged me $50 per night at check-in and I had never paid that before, I had already paid the total when booking. the room had a very dirty floor (photo below), we missed some entertainers, I hope it was just days off as they really make a difference. Last time I had complained about the room next door that they were making a lot of noise until late, and this time unfortunately I had problems again with two men arguing under my window

My sons thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Clean and friendly. Checking in took a long time, and breakfast is expensive. Pool had good amount of life guards watching children.

The site inside and outside is in disrepair. Peeling paint and stucco. Facia board on the outside fell off building. Inside water park floors and multiple areas look rough, peeling. Not the worst but definitely need updated and cleaned up. Room was clean for the most part everything except floors were not swept a lot of hair left over from previous occupants. The giant bucket didn’t work our entire day and a half stay. Very disappointing.

Expedia paperwork lists check in as 3pm. Upon arrival castaway bay staff informed us 4pm was check in. They said they couldn’t help what Expedia told us. We did not receive our keys until after 5pm! I would have thought they would have at least made sure we check in on time. We finally had our room so my children could get changed and enjoy the pool. We thought the struggle was behind us. The next day we were in the waterpark for about an hour when they chased everyone out. They ran out of pool chemicals. They eventually let people back in to about half the park but the majority remained closed. In a two day trip we missed out on about half of our waterpark time because this facility is poorly managed. At check out I explained our terrible experience and asked for the managers email. They wouldn’t give it to me. They took my info and said they would call the following week to book us a complimentary stay. They never reached out. My co-worker that had a similar experience put it best “don’t waste your time go to great wolf lodge”

The water park was nice and perfect for our 2 1/2 year old. Water park was clean and seemed very safe. The hotel room was below average. The comforter on both beds was yellowish and stained. Two of our four bath towels and one wash cloth had dried blood on them. The bathroom ceiling and around the mirror had hair hanging from it likely from a blow dryer. The water park made it worth the $200 plus I paid, but I can see why its half the cost of Great Wolfe Lodge or Kalahari.

Because we have some waterpark components that extend outside, sometimes the water temperature dips slightly in the winter when the weather gets colder, however our indoor waterpark is heated to 82 degrees year-round. The place is as advertised. Waterpark is fantastic for little ones, teenagers might get bored quickly. Rooms are very spacious. Beds are a touch on the hard side and wish they had bigger/more pillows, very small pillows especially for a king sized bed

Our family had a blast at the Castaway Bay waterpark! I appreciate the longer span hours it is open compared to other waterpark resorts we have visited. It was great to get in first thing in the morning and ride the slides without any line ups or waiting! The room was clean and in great recently renovated condition. The fold out bed in the chair is a clever use if space, and was comfortable for sleep. We didn't prefer the hard floors / lack of carpeting in the rooms. It wasn't as cozy feeling, but is an understandable choice in a waterpark resort. The biggest concern with hard floors was it was very loud without any sound dampening overnight. Other guests making poor choices letting their young kids run down halls yelling, and slamming doors echoes in the room overnight. We aren't typically light sleepers and haven't had this issue before at another hotel. After 10:30pm our entire family was woken up by a group including toddlers loudly speaking in the hallway, and the repeated slamming of doors for around 20 minutes. Again at 11:30pm it sounded like a young child was running up and down the hall yelling, and doors were slamming. Without carpet for dampening it is very loud and sounds like they are yelling in your room. When people are knocking or slamming doors late at night it sounds like is is your door. Just something to be aware of. Overall we enjoyed the resort, and are glad we tried it!

So much fun!!
So much fun so many things to do. The waterpark is amazing! Great water slides, wave pool, kiddie play area, water basketball jacuzzi and so much more. A fantastic place to take the kids for a family trip. The rooms are are upper clean even though the beds are on the small side. Don’t buy a pop out of the vending machine, there is no price listed but your card gets charged $5.50. We will definitely be back.
