The place had just the basic necessities.

Posted 7-Oct-2017
Pros: Location
We stayed for just one night. The room had the basics and that was about it. There was no TV guide (something that identified what channels were available. The TV was poorly placed (below eye level from the bed). The room had a musty smell to it - like it needed a good airing out. Everything in the room as cheap as could be. It did appear to be pretty clean though. I suppose that this is par for the course for Super 8's so I really didn't expect much more. One other thing, did not see much presence of breakfast. A couple of containers of cereal was all. Stopped to see if I could get a cup of coffee around 8am. Nothing to be found and no one at the desk. The main reason we stayed there was they were the only place that would accept a dog. BTW, I think that the $20 dog fee is a rip off. Is there anything extra or special provided in the room because there's a dog in it? Not that I could see. And if there is any damage by the pet, there is a $175 deposit to take care of that. So, as I see it, it's just a way to get another $20 out of the guest. Leaves a bad taste! In the end it was OK - managed to get a pretty good night's sleep anyway.

A good, inexpensive hotel.

Good place. It’s not the Ritz, it’s Super 8 - very basic but affordable.

Checked in at 12am, someone's came quick to the front desk and we got our key . The room was ok, neat but lighting was a bit dim. The room reminded me of low budget motels where anyone can just come and bang on our door. We survived though, It was the cheapest but decent room compared to other plce I've looked at. if you just want to crash somewhere then I recommend this place but if you want to enjoy a nice place in slo you should look at a different spot

Pros: Coffee.. Strong enough
Cons: Serious check into the existing structure at the second floor balcony/walking. It is scary to walk on it
Booking the hotel was easy as everything was automated. The pictures shown on the website was the nicest as they need to show the best. The host didn't show any passion or greeting guests when arrived and walked into the small reception to check-in. The parking was the bare minimum, and there won't be available parking with full occupancy. Everything was fine until the very last night; we got bite by bugs, leaving with the itch on hands and legs. There are isn't enough room for seating for breakfast, and again with the bare minimum of breakfast provided. The towel were old and didn't feel like to use it. The very last thing I noticed is the second-floor balcony or walkway,. The balcony structure by the stair at the second floor is cantilevered and sagging, looks scary to walk on it. I am not mean for slope to drain the surface water. The floor and the balcony wall has cracks. Just think of those incidents when the balcony collapses. I would insert the pictures if this review allowed.

SLO Pit Stop

Posted 5-Jun-2017 on Hotels
Only a pit stop, overnight. We've been to SLO before but not stayed overnight. Overall, not bad... Shower head didn't work on all selections. Bed was comfy. Room was clean. In room TV was a midget. It's an old hotel in need of exterior repairs. Breakfast was barely that.
