We were happy with the location.

Posted 18-Aug-2015
Pros: The location, the clean rooms and comfy bed.
Cons: I mentioned the loud and noisy air conditioning unit and the mini fridge. Both had to be off for us to sleep. We unplugged in the fridge every evening
Location: Loved the location.
We were happy with the location. The room was really clean and tidy and the outside noise was more quiet then we expected since there are other hotels nearby. Great bed. Our only complaint was the air conditioner was really noisy along with the mini fridge. Those thing should and could be easily fixed. We just turned off the cooling system and unplugged the fridge at night. It is an older hotel so there were stairs to climb to get tot he second floor. The parking lot was tight. Hard to get into a spot and hard to get out of the spot. Otherwise, it was what we needed. A clean bed and a quiet room once we turned off those noisy factors...fridge and air conditioner units. We didn't come to SLO to stay in our room. We just needed a good night sleep and a clean room. We got that, due to our input of fixing the noises inside the room. I think it was a bit pricy for what we got. I would suggest those noisy items be fixed and the price would be okay with us. Loved the location being so close to the Apple Farm. We saw busses picking up people to take downtown. That was cool too. We would stay there again, but would not give it a pleasing rating at this point, It was okay but we would not recommend it to friends due to the issues we told you about.

Staff are there because they have to be. Noisy neighbors come in late from downtown bars. Staff does nothing to remedy this. Staff doesn't return calls. Cal Poly Alumni--you would be better served elsewhere.

Loved the décor

Great price and great location. Less than 10 minutes from downtown SLO. Right across an Arco in case you need a midnight snack and gas up before hitting the road.

Good location

Pros: I liked that the location was so close to downtown and the staff was friendly. There is also a free continental breakfast.
Cons: I believe the rooms could be updated.
Location: It's very close to downtown San Luis Obispo where there are lots of shops, restaurants and the Mission.
We came to San Luis Obispo for a wedding and this hotel was very close to the venue. We also went to visit downtown before the wedding and location was excellent.

Cheap hotel with slow service

Posted 1-Aug-2015
We booked this hotel knowing that we were getting a good deal, but we didn't realize the terrible service we were paying for. The first night was ok, but the room was super small and uncomfortable, which I guess is a given for San Francisco. The second night was terrible. We were woken up at 2am by vacuuming (?) and at 6am the door next to us was being opened and then slammed repeatedly for over an hour. The front desk barely apologized and only offered a $15 discount on our room. I asked to speak with the manager who basically told me I was making everything up about the vacuuming and I am still waiting for the manager to get back with me about further reimbursement. Don't stay here unless you are desperate or poor...

Everything Seemed fine until.....

Posted 13-Jul-2015
Pros: The only thing that was good was the location.
Cons: THE cleanliness and the owners customer service skills, no apologies, no remorse, in fact blammed the roach on us, said we left our door open?????
Location: SLO is a great place to go, lots to do, Morro Bay, Downtown SLO, Los Osos, Avila Beach
The place LOOKED decent upon arrival, the young guy that worked there was accommodating, he let us see the room first, it all looked clean enough for a one night stay. The bed was decent enough looked like a new bed and mural on the wall with new paint. But the next morning while getting packed up there was a roach that crawled out from under the sheets IN THE BED. Disgusting!!!! We went to the owner Amul Soni, and he would not do anything, he said that since we paid for our room through expedia he could not do anything except give us a 10% discount on our NEXT stay. Like we are going back, I DON'T THINK SO. Expedia, again was great as always and gave us a nice credit towards another stay SOMEWHERE ELSE. Thank you Expedia for standing behind us.
