Great location with plenty of parking and shuttle

Posted 9-Feb-2016
Pros: Plenty of parking and close enough to walk downtown
Nice area, close enough to walk downtown or to Cal Poly. Very friendly staff and the shuttle was available every time we didn't feel like walking. Just 1 block from Splash Cafe and Apple Farm, both worth a visit. Part of the hotel was under renovation and there was some tree removal going on but this didn't interrupt our stay. A very high quality cooked to order breakfast was more than we expected. A fantastic 3 star place.

Nice hotel with easy highway access to job site.

Pros: It made it easy for me to do my work, the reason I went to San Luis Obispo.
Cons: No
Location: The place I was working at was just minutes away from the hotel.
I stayed at hotel while doing business. Staff made it easy for to do work in the hotel in the evenings. Relaxing setting.

Nice location, safe, clean. Will stay again!

Room - Stayed in a king suite with a very comfortable bed! Too comfy--ended up taking a 3 hour nap on it in the evening! There was also a comfortable couch and television in the "living room" area which was great. Plenty of space to lounge around and be comfortable. Fridge and microwave in room as well. Bathroom - Towels were of nicer quality than the cheap-paper feeling kind you might expect at a cheap hotel. The door was one of those sliding kind which was a bit older style, but still fine. Toilet flushes super loud; only real complaint. Staff - We checked in quickly and easily; were offered which floor we would like to stay on. Answered all of our questions, helped us use the complimentary shuttle service to and from downtown (AMAZING! SO convenient!). Other - Lobby/patio area is super cozy. They have a free beer/wine HH from 5:30-7:30 which was quite nice, chips to snack on, and then barbeque items for sale as well. It was cold during our stay, but there were fire pits and heaters outside which made is perfectly find to hang outdoors and enjoy our drinks before heading out to dinner later in the evening. Breakfast - Made to order breakfasts items, they also provide a menu to choose from. The little waffles were quite fluffy and good actually. Fruit, coffee, pastries, tea, etc--your usuals. Walking distance to downtown (15 minutes) area and closer than some other hotels within this price range a little further down the street. Will stay here again in the future.

Good location, hot breakfast included

Posted 5-Jan-2016
My husband and I were in SLO for the weekend to move our son into school. The Quality Suites was a great choice. It is downtown, in a convenient location. The rooms are suites, we had a king bed with a pull out couch. A hot breakfast and "Manager's reception" with beer and wine are included. There is a pool, spa, small workout room and a comfortable lobby and bar area. It is not glamorous but it is clean and comfortable with a lot of great extras!

Pros: spacious rooms with a door to divide the sleeping area from the front room, extra sink in front room, complimentary breakfast and evening drinks, bbq
Location: very short walking distance to Franks, Splash, and several other dining/shopping options; short drive to Cal Poly and downtown San Luis Obispo Mission
Very comfortable, welcoming hotel and convenient location. Pleasant staff. Quickly and professionally repaired a light that was not functioning properly.

Very clean hotel near Cal Poly SLO

Posted 4-Nov-2015
Great complimentary wine/beer evening service, complimentary hot breakfast, (mostly) friendly staff and close location to Cal Poly SLO make this a go-to stop in Central California. Walking into our suite, we could tell that the room was clean by the smell! Bathroom and bedding area were extremely clean, no obvious peeling paint, mold, or other issues. Breakfast staff was rude - we arrived earlier than another party for breakfast, and were on the "Start line here" side of the counter. When I walked up to place my request with the staff, I was sharply told that it was "first come first served". I wasn't sure if it was age discrimination or racial discrimination (I am in my early 20s and Asian), while the other party was older and Caucasian. I would still recommend this property to potential guests, but our breakfast experience wasn't entirely pleasing.

Everything else was great except there are many noises from upstairs and next doors, door slamming and squeaking and walking.
