The Neighborhood: Condado is an upscale, oceanfront, tree-lined, pedestrian-oriented community in San Juan. Condado is one of the forty neighborhoods of San Juan, Puerto Rico. In the north are the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean next to hotels and other attractions such as nightclubs, casinos, shops, and restaurants. Condado is one of the island's primary tourist destinations. Getting Around: Parking in Condado is limited. We recommend that our guests do not rent cars unless planning to travel out of San Juan often. In addition to Condado being very walkable, taxicab service, Uber, and electric scooters are abundant and easy to hail. Other Things to Note: Guests must be at least 21 years of age to check-in. Check-in time is at 4P local time. Checkout time is at 11 AM local time. We want to provide a delightful experience to our incoming guests, so we need your help vacating your unit on time. Please be advised any unauthorized checkout past 11 AM will have an additional cost. We offer several paid amenities as add-on services. After the reservation, these paid amenities can be ordered through the Marketplace tab in our Guidebook. We offer packages such as early check-in, late check-out, pack-n-play travel crib, air mattress, and birthday balloons. Our Beach Essentials only include beach towels and beach chairs. To make your stay even more enjoyable, we’ve included an Otium Starter Package in each of our properties. This package includes all the essentials you’ll need to get you started and feel right at home. You’ll find 2 large bath towels, 1 beach towel, 1 washcloth per guest, along with a hand towel per bathroom. We’ve also included mouthwash and toothpaste in each bathroom for your convenience. To keep you feeling fresh and clean, you’ll find shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. For your snacking pleasure, we’ve included 2 snacks per guest, along with water and 1 paper towel. We’ve also got you covered with 2 toilet papers, dish soap, and hand soap. So sit back, relax, and enjoy all the amenities that come with your stay. If you need more amenities you may purchase our Otium Replenish Package, Towel Replenish Package, and Blanket Replenish Package via our Marketplace. Please be respectful of the home, as we like to keep it in good condition. No parties or events are allowed. The house rules here are very important. Parties, loud music or noise, and smoking are strictly prohibited. Quiet hours begin at 10 PM. Please be respectful of your noise level during quiet hours. Our neighbors live here full-time, and we work hard to maintain good relationships with them. Our home is equipped with NoiseAware, which measures sound levels and alerts us if things are too loud so we can give you a heads-up. NoiseAware does not record content; it only measures noise levels, so your privacy is 100% guaranteed. To abide by all legal requirements and building security rules, you may be asked to provide a copy of your official government-issued photo ID, confirm your contact information, provide a valid credit card with a name that matches your ID, pass through our verification portal and, in some instances, complete a criminal background check. The apartment is located in an older building in Condado, on the beach and giving you a feel that you are in Puerto Rico. Walking distance to restaurants, supermarket, and night life, made things really easy for us as we did not have a car. We used uber to get to Old San Juan, which was also easy and not expensive. The building is old and in desperate need of renovation. The condo has some updates in the kitchen and bath, but not enough to cover up 50 years of grime. They need a full renovation. The shower door doesn't close completely, and the shower will not hold a temperature. Be prepared to go from hot to cold and back again throughout your shower. The management is very stingy with supplies, although you can purchase additional, and they will deliver quickly. But even if you purchase the additional bedding for the futon, you only get one sheet and a baby blanket that is not big enough to cover a twin bed. You might want to bring your own bedding. There is only one sheet and a comforter on the main bed. No extra blankets. There is only one hand towel in the bathroom. The bathroom has no electrical outlets for shavers or hairdryers. The kitchen has no washcloths or dishtowels and bare minimum cookware. When we arrived, there was one dinner fork and one salad fork, two butter knives, and four spoons. Cookware consists of three saute pans and one one-quart saucepan. There are no extras -- no corkscrew, no colander, no cutting board. Basically, they provided only the bare minimum that they could get away with. The parking is uncovered -- not in the garage. There is no patio, as the description says. The location is a walking distance from the “big names” hotels area but you don’t live in the middle of the disco party, it’s a quiet place. The only thing to mention, we were not lucky with the ocean and had to travel to a beach which is ok for kids, maybe it depends on the season. But if you like surfing or kiteboarding, this area is definitely 100% yours. The managing company is welcoming and amazing in communication. Have a good time in San Juan! ##### Maya S.
