The wifi never worked even after we called to report it several times, hair was found at the bathroom floor, safety box didnt work due to low battery. Front desk receptionist had a harsh attitude.

My recent stay at City Express by Marriott in San Jose, Costa Rica, unfortunately, fell short of expectations. From the moment I arrived, issues arose. The lift was out of order, forcing guests to navigate stairs with luggage. Additionally, the key card provided didn't work initially, causing unnecessary inconvenience. Further disappointments awaited inside the hotel. The vending machine, a convenient option for a quick snack or drink, was also out of order, limiting options for guests. To add to the frustration, during checkout, an unexpected extra charge of $20 was levied without prior notice or explanation. This lack of transparency left a sour taste in what was meant to be a pleasant stay. While the hotel's location and amenities may hold promise, these operational and service shortcomings significantly detracted from the overall experience. Hopefully, these issues can be addressed promptly to ensure a more satisfactory stay for future guests.

I was terrified of someone breaking into my room for reason and couldn’t sleep. I placed all my luggage by the door. In the middle of the night around 1 am someone opens the door suddenly. I called the front desk to report someone breaking in and they say it was the security. Is that even legal? I have never ever heard of a security guard walking into someone’s hotel room while sleeping. I couldn’t sleep rest if evening and my blood pressure was high. I felt very unsafe here

My stay was average. The ice machine was broken but it’s a clean environment. I was happy that there was an English speaker at the front desk. I didn’t get her name but she helped me book an amazing tour to La Paz Waterfall.

Rooms are not clean the bathroom was dirty, no water in the rooms, breakfast was not good at all. We could not get a good rest it was very noisy in could hear everything

This was my first time at this hotel. It has a nice shopping center and good dining options very close. Hotel is very clean and the breakfast has many options. What I did not like there was no refrigerator, ice bucket or glasses for the room and the tv only had two stations. The AC unit leaked down the wall and all over the floor. If you need the shuttle to the airport the hotel will charge you $20. I thought that this was outrageous and I got an Uber for $7.50. Will not be a repeat customer

They were short staffed and couldn’t manage , wifi didn’t work , we asked a million times and they didn’t do anything about it , none of the staff there speaks English properly , they are rude and it was such a dirty hotel, I found broken nail and fake lashes on the bed . It was an awful experience

1 water when 2 guests. No microwave No fridge . Limited English speakers. Same breakfast all week. No garden view as advertised. Teip to airport that less than 7 mnt is 20$ . No water to sell on property.

Lamentamos que su experiencia no haya sido la mejor, deseo comentarle que el microondas del area del desayunador esta a disposición de todos nuestros huéspedes, contamos en esa misma área con un dispensador de agua purificada en la que puede rellenar sus botellas sin costo alguno, y contamos con un pequeño refrigerador el cual esta a disposicion de nuestros huéspedes previa solicitud.

We used it for one night after a long flight to San Jose.The room was a little stinky so we had to use AC for the whole night to get rid of the smell, since we windows are all locked. Nice breakfast options made up the initial impression. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Overall, the hotel was fine - room was clean, surrounding area had plenty of fast food dining option.. However, we were given a connecting room, so it was noisy at times. Also, the breakfast area was really crowded and it was difficult to find a place to sit down to eat.

We'd stay again, this place is super clean, helpful staff and a decent breakfast. not close to downtown but only a $9 uber ride so no big deal.

We stayed one night at City Express before our flight out of San Jose. The hotel was clean, felt safe, had dinning options near by, parking was easy, staff was nice and breakfast included. Reasonable distance from the airport. We had rented a car from Enterprise whose car return was an 8min drive away. Would stay here again!
