This is a cute and cute boutique hotel. The staff is amazing, especially Emilio! The area is walkable and the beach is about 10 minutes away. There is a grocery store and Bistro , La Comer across the street, and several restaurants as well. The hotel is very dated, but clean and the television works. The pool is great with chairs and a covered area. I will definitely stay here again

We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Santa Maria – clean, comfortable and conveniently located, with very reasonable rates and a friendly, attentive staff (special kudos to Abigail and Melissa at the reception desk - very accommodating!). We stayed in a junior suite, which was spacious and had a small kitchenette with a balcony view of the golf course, and its king-size bed was very comfortable. Olga, one of the hotel’s team of cleaning maids was very attentive and friendly, too. A well-tended garden and patio with an inviting swimming pool is centrally located, and the hotel’s cute little restaurant, “Secretos”, provided us with tasty breakfasts and sandwiches, both Mexican and North American style, along with excellent service by Ana, our amiable waitress. This little gem of a hotel has an onsite massage studio (Colibri) and a gym, too, but we didn’t have enough time to enjoy them; however, when we come back next time, we’ll definitely give them a go! If you love to walk, the public beach isn’t far away so you can take a beautiful seaside walk along the beach (note: swimming and/or wading is NOT recommended due to a strong undertow & hidden rip currents), and there’s a small but modern shopping center across the way where one can find a full array of groceries, dry goods, clothing, souvenirs, currency exchange and even crepes and a Subway sandwich shop. Finally, there are several restaurants nearby; all good, but our favorite? Tacos Lateral - tasty, yet inexpensive!

4 easy blocks to the beach, i block to the big grocery store, lots of dining choices, and included breakfast with lots of delicious choices. I was initially put off because the kitchen, although complete had no pans, dishes or silverware. there was a coffee maker and two cups. All it took was to request for what we needed to cook with and it quickly arrived at our door freshly washed.

This is a good Basic Hotel that's Centrally Located in San Jose Del Cabo close to everything Shopping, Restaurants etc.I usually stay at All Inclusive Resorts but I did enjoy my Week there.If you want a Hotel that's cozy & authentic type Mexican one on a Lower Price Range/ Budget then i'd maybe check this out, Àlistair B..

Poor quality & value
Check in young non-English speaking woman tried to give us a bill for.room, but only when we showed our receipt did she finally speak a little English saying room paid. Any worker in hotel management should know how to yse Google translate. Beds only fair. Cockroaches. Kitchen had no pots, coffee mugs, only 1 spoon & fork laying in drawer. Bathroom window broken. VERY outdated!

We’re from the USA and have a home about one hours drive north from San Jose del Cabo. We like staying at the Santa Maria when we want to have a few days in town without the drive home. The staff is friendly, rooms are large and clean. The hotel is basic by American standards when traveling to a resort area, but the trade off for economy and comfort are equal. The Secritos restaurant is great for breakfast, which the room rate oftenincludes, making the value even greater.

Simply OK
Room is dated, curtains are dirty / permit light through, shower curtain smelled bad, no lamp or soft lighting at bed. For the price you pay, rooms need an update. Positives: very friendly staff, good location (beach walking distance and supermarket across the street), warm pool, nice breakfast, clean linens, and bed was very comfortable.

I liked the breakfast that was provided and the staff was helpful and tried to get a TV connection but the boss has to care of the downed service over the 3 day weekend.

Front service was bad. The room i was given was dirty. Beds had hairs and restroom was dirty as well. I went to request another room and 2 ladies at the front gave me a bad look as if I was lying. I told them I had pictures if they needed proof. They gave me another room but with a really bad attitude. The breakfast was good though. Over all the hotel is ok.

We checked out early, we only stayed the first night of our reservation. Main reason was a damaged window in the bathroom. It’s apparent that it was broken into and was never repaired. I did not feel safe. The towels were dirty. bedspread ripped, no soap in kitchen. Room needs cleaning. The breakfast was good. People at the restaurant were attentive and took good care of us. We had to make another reservation elsewhere for the rest of our stay.

This is a cheap and nice place to lodge with your family. The breakfast is superb! They serve you organic and well done, though you could have to wait for 30 minutes or more to get served based on the number of people. The receptionist was lovely, though I would suggest more training in understanding customers who speak English, all the same, they tried their best to understand me. The rooms are spacious, clean, and fashionably old. The room service is perfect too!

Clean, safe, well located and thrifty
We loved it, clean room, quiet and guarded gate. The kitchen area was large with fridge, microwave and sink. It wasn’t stocked with any kitchenware so bring your own or ask the front desk. Beds were very hard and shower gives a very short blast of hot water but hey.. the price outweighs these shortcomings. Breakfast was authentic Mexican cuisine and very filling. Location is fabulous, with a grocery superstore store and McDonald’s across the street. Fabulous local restaurants are nearby and it’s a short walk to the beach. Definitely coming to stay longer next year!!!

The area was easy for transport, breakfast was great! The pool was unfiltered & ice cold! Housekeeping only came twice for a 8 day stay. Even made the bed with a sheet with blood on it!!! Linen was all ripped & seemed dirty. Very worn towels. We were supposed to be in a king bed, but was put in a double, yet the hotel argues it was a king. I know the difference as I have a king at home

Inconveniences but a Clean place
This palace was decent but it was not what I expected. There was no clear communication about breakfast, you have to obtain a ticket everyday to get the breakfast and the menu was limited. They did not carry some of the food items displayed on the menu. The room was nice and clean but you have to ask for everything you need. Sometime you get what you need and sometime you don't. For example, there was no cookware, coffee maker, no small wash clothes, no phones in rooms to call front desk, Sometimes they answer and sometime the line is busy on purpose, off the hook. Overall, the stay was not bad but there are some inconveniences..

The place was fine, it was a budget option just off the beach. So you have an informed decision: - no view of anything other than the mini mall next door - pool (as most were) is not heated so it's pretty chilly - included breakfast was good (quite a few options) - While there was a kitchen (fridge, burners, microwave, sink), there wasn't cutlery, dishes, glasses or pots/pans so it was useless - maybe you have to ask for this stuff? We didn't bother - There were two safes, neither worked - There is no tag to put on the door asking for privacy

We needed a place to stay one night before our flight out of San Jose del Cabo. We had our rental car, so we wanted a safe easy place to park. This is a basic motel/hotel, but you get a lot for your money. We were pretty much the only American/Canadian's there. We had a suite with fridge including breakfast for a fraction of the tourist priced places. The vauue is great. Awasome pool too. The bedding, sheets and towels are basic. There is no coffee maker or kitchen tools, but the breakfast reastaurant was excellent, so it was all good. The grocery is accross the street and several great restrant choices right accross the street.

I’m not one to complain but the staff at front desk were so happy to help and make my stay pleasant that I am still in shock . They were pleasant always as though they really wanted their customers to enjoy the experience. The pool glistened so brightly from good clean maintenance that it was quiet blinding . Of course they offered umbrellas and ample reclining chairs the likes of which were so comfortable that I almost missed a massage appointment. The breakfast on sight was delicious healthy creative and served in the similar gushingly pleasant service that I received at the front desk .It was almost as if they received the same staff training . Like crazy socialists that didn’t want to gouge my money they let me park on sight for free . As if this wasn’t offensive enough they also let a guest stay with no additional charge . The beach was only 5 minutes away so the convenient location barely gave me enough time to burn off the amazing breakfast. As if this wasn’t bad enough. The beach was quiet and peaceful and far to sandy for my refine taste .

Nice garden area n big, deep pool but very cold. Room had no soap in bathroom or kitchenette. No pots n pans or silverware. Apparently one has to ask hotel front desk for them as have been taken by guests. An extra blanket was needed but no more in room. The staff are friendly n helpful.

I would have really liked to give a better review as the staff tried their best - unit had kitchen ie: microwave oven, 2 burner hot top, mini fridge. But. NO utensils. No dishes, plates, silverware, NO dishcloths or soap NOTHING. On request we were given 2plates, 2 bowls and 2 of each knife, fork and spoon. I went and bought a mug so that I could have tea. Still no extra clothes- so we ended up using our precious “one” hand towel for kitchen duty. That left us with 2 small towels for the shower. It’s sad. I would have liked to give a better review- the staff were as friendly as possible- but are more used to their own national tourists rather than Other (Canadian as we are). The pool area was not inviting and most of the lounge chairs were either ripped or broken. The pool needed some cleaning. Given some attention (and I have to say it’s been a difficult year etc.,) this could be a great little resort. It is in a perfect location- close to shopping, buses and beach. But given it’s current state -I would not stay again.
