"Excellence"
Beautiful hotel with excellent staff. The front des, bellmen, valets and bartender were all personable and effecient. We have stayed at many holes in SF over the years. This was the best ever, from arrival to departure. Everything was excellent.

"Great birthday weekend!"
My birthday weekends are usually spent in San Francisco; love the vibe and the ambience the city reflects. Glad I choose the Four Seasons Hotel this year, cause it was ALL I could have imagined it to be: outstanding service and over-the-top luxury. My needs were met on exceptional levels from the front desk, in-room service, all day dinning, to the five star Sports Club! With the hotel being centrally located to Union Square, my 'retail therapy' was completely in tack:) God-willing, next year we hope to visit again. D.A. Loupe Leimert Park, California

"Impeccable service/Awesome views."
Although expensive, including the valet parking ($67.00 a night), this hotel was worth every penny spent. We celebrated out 25th wedding anniversary and visited our son who attends UCSF. I can't say enough about the friendliness and professionalism of the staff; especially the valet workers. Housekeeping came and went when it was convenient for us, which is very refreshing. We were given a room on the 44th floor that provided the most luxurious bed I've ever slept in and a view to DIE for of the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge & the surrounding bay. (They were currently the 3rd. tallest building in the city) Loews provided binoculars to make the view more incredible. They thoughtfully left us a mini gourmet tray of strawberries dipped in chocolate and a note of congratulations. Everything looked and felt very clean, (which I can be picky about) and check-in and out was seamless. They also have a courtesy car that will take you anywhere within a mile radius. The amenities in the City are endless. We would have stayed longer if our wallet could take it, but we will be back someday:-) P.S. We stayed Thursday night through Saturday morning in the month of February,2017.

"Vintage Hotels in Need of Greater Renovation"
The Whitcomb is a once upon a time grand hotel that needs to rethink a fuller renovation. While the lobby is quite beautiful in an historical sense, honoring that history with a lack of electric outlets in a room in this modern age means to fall behind the demands of the modern traveler. Mind you, the Whitcomb was pleasant enough and give me easy access to the Moscone Center, the rooms need better lighting, and the bathrooms need to be upgraded to meet modern requirements. While the bathrooms have been renovated somewhat, hair dryer, great shower head, the faucet handles, wobbly, need to be switched out for new styles. The bathroom is in desperate need of shelving, as otherwise one has to put their toilet articles on the closet shelf or dresser. Going back to the electric outlets, when guests ask for extensions or the multiple plug receptacles and are told, "many of asked, so they are out of them," this is a problem. A guest shouldn't have to get down on the floor and switch out the plug on the floor lamp for the one on his computer. On the plus side, it is a venerable hotel, with a knowledgeable staff and a convenient restaurant that serves a nice breakfast variety. Like many things in this world, it has great potential but needs a more thorough makeover.
