Not what was expected for a 4 star hotel and for the price. Room was outdated. Pillows were too soft. Room was just looking old.

I love that it is a historical property in San Francisco. The location was great: not too far from the wharf or Union Square or the Embarcadero and right on the cable car line. In spite of it being an older building, the rooms were very quiet. Nice linens- a key for me- and very accommodating, friendly cleaning staff. Tourists come from all over to the Top of the Mark for a cocktail- the views are truly impressive- so it was nice to hop in the elevator and have a NA beverage to start our dry January. We were only there for two nights but would definitely book there again.
