Your own private, clean, and cozy efficiency suite in Dolores Heights, one of the most sought after neighborhoods in San Francisco (Mark Zuckerburg's house is two blocks away): Private Entrance and Bedroom, and Bathroom Shared Deck The heart of Castro, 30 sec walk to Dolores Park, 5 min walk to Mission District, 7 min ride to downtown, 27 min ride to SFO KEYLESS ENTRY Interaction: You will have a completely private experience: you will get a personalized code for the keyless lock, and we will make sure you will have everything you need once you get there. We will be available by phone anytime, but will otherwise not bother you. Access: Private entrance to your own efficiency Suite (including bathroom) - this is not just a room in a house! You will be assigned a unique code that you can use to access the unit at any time during your stay: no keys needed. Note: like most houses in San Francisco we are on a hill, with the exterior front door effectively on the 3rd floor. All stairs are outside the house. Space: Our cheerful, comfortable and thoughtfully-organized suite is perfect for traveling couples, friends and relatives, and parents with one child. The house features 9 foot ceilings, a peaceful back yard garden and front house views over looking 19th street and the city, with the bay visible in the distance. The Ensuite is the house Master Bedroom with large spacious ensuite bathroom. It is closed from the rest of the house and you will have direct access through a private door off of the shared garden. Your guest experience is completely private, NOT through the house living space. BEDROOM \-comfortable and cozy, yet stylish and charming \-super clean \-hardwood floor \-Beautyrest Black Queen bed \-NOTE: there is no closet, although there are hooks, hangers, and we can hold other items for you. You will be assigned a unique code that you can use to access the unit at any time during your stay = no keys needed :) Neighborhood: Dolores Heights is centrally located between the Castro, Noe Valley and the Mission. It includes Mission Dolores -- the oldest building in San Francisco, and Dolores Park -- one of the most popular parks in the city. As you may know, the Castro (centered 4 blocks west) is the historic gay center of San Francisco -- it features restaurants, bars, the Castro Theater, shopping, and an ever-increasing number of coffee shops and day spas. The Mission (centered 3 blocks east) is a historically Latino neighborhood. It, too, features restaurants, bars, the Roxie Theater, shopping and an ever-increasing number of coffee shops and boutiques. Transit: San Francisco has excellent public transportation, and all of it is easily accessible from here. The Muni J-Church line is two blocks away and will take you downtown; it also connects with other lines that can take you to virtually any part of SF. The Castro and Church stations are four blocks away. The 22, 24, 33, and F all stop within 2-4 blocks of the apartment and will take you to various parts of the city. BART is also nearby -- the 16th & Mission station is only five blocks away. There is a bike share station 18th and Dolores street 3 blocks away. In fact, everything you need is easily walkable, so you don't need a car. If you do have a car, free on-street parking is available. Parking spots are typically ample, and with notice you can use the private spot in front of the driveway. However, there is a 2-hour parking limit for non-resident vehicles from 8am to 9pm Monday through Friday. That means you need to move your car every two hours during the day. Nights are easier -- if you park your car after 7pm you can leave it there until 10am the next morning. All that being said, temporary parking permits are available. They eliminate the 2-hour restriction so that you can park all day. Please contact us for availability and pricing. The space is small if you’re wanting to do things like work (just a bed and bathroom), but we loved the outside patio area and also just walked down to a little cafe on a day it was raining to hang for a bit. We also slept great - comfy bed and nice pillows. In the heart of it all! Mattress was stellar! Loved having a bidet just like home. Lots to love, but be aware there is no place to put your stuff. No drawers, no dressers, just 4 hangers on hooks. It’s super walkable (the host provides a perfect walking map along with great area recommendations) and being in the row houses on a beautiful hill overlooking the park gives you the perfect San Fran vibes. To access the suite you climb several sets of stairs, go through secure gates and down a quaint hallway. This opens up to a back courtyard that feels like an extension of your room. The suite itself is a bedroom plus bathroom and although small had absolutely everything we needed (including Keurig!).
