"Good hotel."
Everything was in order when I arrived. No issues checking in. When I settled into the hotel room, I found the toilet to be clogged and the staff accommodated by assigning me to another room and having the staff fraternize rather than focus on my room change was exhausting and then later knocknig on my door to clean the room before checking out was annoying. This was not my first time staying with Citigarden and this will not be my last. However, I have found the prices to be going up dramatically since I first started staying here and the prices do not reflect the experience. With that said, Citigarden is a clean hotel and you will get a good nights sleep.

Hotel North Beach

935 Kearny Street, San Francisco - Map
Heard a lot of bad reviews on this place, totally unfounded in my opinion. Small room, shared bathroom but both were clean. Room was comfortable and homey. Great access to food drink and fun right outside the door and about a 20 minute walk to the waterfront. For $60 you just can't beat this place, especially in Frisco where everything is expensive. I'll definitely be back

Pier 2620 Hotel Fisherman's Wharf - San Francisco Hotels

Pier 2620 Hotel Fisherman's Wharf

2620 Jones Street, San Francisco - Map
"Hotel close to fishermans wharf"
Hotel was very clean.. had a rustic feel to it which I personally love the look of. Walking distance to fishermans wharf, trolley, ghirardelli square, Alcatraz landing. Only issues we had were that we were told wifi was free but it wouldn't work at all. Even when they let us use the admin wifi they told us it might not work( and it didn't). Why advertise free wifi when it doesn't work. Otherwise a very nice hotel.

"Adjacent to Cow Palace"
This hotel was really nice! My husband and I (and 2 kids) stayed here while we attended the Dicken's Fair at the Cow Palace. We were able to walk to and from the event in 15 minutes. The room was clean and comfortable and the front desk staff were pleasant. The to go breakfast boxes were a nice touch, and there is a great espresso/coffee machine in the lobby. We would stay here again:)

Coral Reef Inn & Suites - Alameda Hotels
Rating: 2.5 Stars

Coral Reef Inn & Suites

400 Park St, Alameda - Map
"Convenient, comfortable stay"
This is an older motel, but comfortable. It was our 1st time there. Most of the rooms seem to be on the top floor and there is no elevator, which was hard on us. We had requested a downstairs room due to health issues, but , as with most motels, they don't read the request until you arrive (8 PM). It was difficult climbing the stairs (really worn and dirty carpet, covered with plastic)., and the outside balcony hallway was not really conducive to our health issues either(vertigo). The room was clean and roomy, the bath tub a bit dated. It was very quiet and the view out the back window was lovely. There are not many choices of motels in Alameda. We were happy to be able to get this one on a weekend.

Hotel Union Square - San Francisco Hotels
Rating: 3.5 Stars

Hotel Union Square

114 Powell St, San Francisco - Map
"Okay for less money"
I wanted to stay in the Union Square area. I don't think I've seen more hotels in such an small area before. I had chosen the hotel because the rate was as close to a $100 a night as I could find. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the place was clean. The room was small, but clean. The closet was 1/3 the size of the room, but the bathroom did have a full bathtub/shower.

When you spend extra time in SF, you can do more than the usual sightseeing activities. Make time to participate in those truly off-the-wall rituals of the city.

For starters, join Critical Mass. On the last Friday of every month, hundreds of cyclists ride through town on their way home, on their way out, or to simply join in the community spirit. While the movement is popular in other cities, it started right here in SF. Speaking of sports, if you’re a jogger, you may have a tradition of touching a certain marker before turning around. Ken Hopper, an iron-worker of the Golden Gate Bridge, noticed this behavior and created the Hopper’s Hands plaque that now hangs on the chain-link fence at Crissy Field. After a day in the outdoors, head into Castro Theatre. Built in 1922, it still has Roaring 20s charm, as well as a modern attitude. You can find all sorts of odd film festivals and sing-along events happening throughout the year.

You may also find yourself singing the praises of cheap rates on apartment hotels in San Francisco. Book right here on to discover a wide range of discounts on top hotels in San Francisco, whether you’re looking for long-term accommodations or a simple inn for the night.

Come take part in San Francisco’s uniqueness during your long stay. Even if you just want to check out off-the-beaten path local eateries or avant-garde theatre shows, this city never runs out of activities for a curious traveller like you.
