This location is very convenient to downtown OB, beach and can sleep a lot of people. I appreciated all of the amenities provided by the owners, even though we did not have time to use most of them. We knew that the layout of the place was going to be odd (per the listing) and honestly we didn’t mind it. There were only four of us and this place provided good mix of communal and private space. But, several oddities made it less than ideal: musty smell upon entry, electrical situation and low water pressure. First, the place smelled musty when we first got there (maybe that is normal beach environment?). Also, we found the remote for the main TV in a pool of rusty water, thus no TV for the weekend…we survived! (odd that housekeeping did not catch this.) Second, there are many electrical outlets and light switches that didn’t seem to be functioning. It was quite a game to figure out what switches/lights can brighten which room. For example, in the main bedroom upstairs, there are beautiful scones right over the bed but none of the switches worked (even after checking the breakers). Finally, the water pressure is a definite negative. If you are unfortunate enough to be showering when someone flushes a toilet in the house, the already gentle shower will become just drips.
